Laura "doesn't get her allowance until tomorrow." Allowance?? Is she a teenager? Is she a wife, or a child? Will Laura's allowance increase after she has the baby? I know, this was a long time ago. But still, no woman I knew of at that time, even though I was a young girl, received an allowance from a husband. How demoralizing that would have been. Okay, bring on the negative comments.
