Oh my god the last creature in the Foundonthetape I recognize from an old tf2/gmod deathrun map, Deathrun maps a few years ago had fail safes for where if a certain time passed and a round wasn't over, a sort of chaser/killer will go through the map slowly instantly killing the players to end the round, and in one map the SAME model of the armless dude was used. There's a video of it on youtube called "THE DING IS COMING! [TF2]" I know this doesn't mean that much for the story but I think it's cool seeing that model again.

The Gman virus thing is 100% real. Played Gmod back in 2009 and would randomly get it on a server I frequented for a day or two. It didn't mess with my PC at all though, and only happened on that particular server. It would randomly show the Gman face on your screen accompanied by the stalker scream. Going by the multiple reports on the various interactions people have had with it, I'm guessing there were multiple iterations of it from various people who wanted to jump in on the trend.

As a note, NightMind actually looked at the Found on the Tape ARG which I took part in. Someone left a comment there, but the gist of it was this, the puzzles were getting solved too quickly so the creator kinda just gave up.

The foundonthetape is likely either two situations: One situation is that we are too late, theres alot to back this situation as the triangle code as actually solved, its just a dead end (you can find most of what im saying in the reddit server). But someone has found a link thats basically doesnt work anymore, i dont know if possible but if someones able to “restore” that link let us know. The second situation was that its cancelled, this is the leading theory because there has been theories that the creator couldnt keep up due to being tired and that we were “solving it too fast”, theres even a comment in the gmod iceberg pt2 of a person who acclaimed to help with the arg saying that they moved on as it was too little to begin with. We may never know.

It feels weird that I tend to show up in every video covering foundonthetape and say this, but it's honestly because I was such a huge fan of it back in the day. Since this was almost 15 years ago my memory fails me but I do recall vaguely that the official email sent us something out of game saying that they were stopping because we were solving stuff to fast. The arg had a lot of eyes on back in the day because, since hl2 maps were involved, the op of the facepunch thread on it decided to name the thread "possible hl3 arg" or something similar. Obviously this isn't true but it got a lot of people looking, and once they did they were hooked.

Oh, actually - iirc the code in the last found on the tape video was decoded. Night Mind did a video on the same ARG, and updated in a comment. Here's what that comment said - "Alright! Patreon supporters were quick to the draw and beat that code pretty quickly. Turns out it's in the language of the Cipher Alphabet for the old order of the Knights Templar. The message is... pretty much what we've already gotten from the uploader: "I'M STILL STUCK EMAIL TAPE ON THE.""

im so glad to see someone else talk about FoundontheTape. I loved Night Mind's video on FoundontheTape and have had it just sitting in the back of my head ever since. I wish it could've been solved and given a proper ending cause while there was so little story to it, the intrigue and mystery of it all is what really drove it and I feel like if it hadn't ended it would've been a masterclass in how to build an unnerving atmosphere that just makes you want to delve deeper into the mystery. There's only a few other horror webseries and online mysteries that completely captivated my interest quite like foundonthetape did. Interloper is actually a really good example honestly, and unlike many of the others that are masters of atmosphere has a great story to go along with it. Often times actually giving your horror series a coherent plot and story causes some of the atmosphere to collapse cause if you give an explanation the mystery inherently declines a little. but I think The Wyoming Incident still reigns king in the pure intrigue, mystery, and atmosphere of it all.
