I think i know how the answer man came to be as a story, it actually existed before 2014 and was part of a japanese website that collects urban legend, the name was “Kaijin Answer(怪人アンサー)” which roughly means Monster Answer, the story is written by an unknown author on their own website at some point as an experiment to see how fast stories spread on the internet and how the writing style can alter from person to person while the contents remains largely the same, the original lore about the Kaijin is that he will answer 9 of the people playing and then ask one unlucky person a question so hard it’s practically impossible to answer, like “what is the meaning of life” or “when will you guys get any bitches” in which if you can’t answer or answer incorrectly he’ll steal a part of your body to fill his own
