This week on New Detectives - Sometimes, arson fires are set to cover a different, more heinous crime - such as murder. But killers are wrong to think that fire destroys all vital clues. Arson investigators can pull evidence from scorched rubble and ashes to ignite the unquenchable flames of justice.

@@Commentator541 Evil and mentally unstable are not mutually exclusive. She behaved like a cold and calculating psychopath, not a person experiencing psychosis which makes them disconnected from reality, unable to understand the wrongness of their actions and will be devastated later on after learning what they've done. Even the psychologist hired for her defense said that she was mentally competent.

I think it was only 15 years for him because he himself didn't set the fires, only made the plans to. His accomplice is the one who set the fires, and they never found him. Much like hiring a hitman, usually the person doing the hiring gets a lesser sentence (usually, but it's still a high sentence) while the hitman would get the heavy full sentence as he fully committed the crime.

"Three years after two firefighters were killed in a blaze at Stormy's Seafood Restaurant, a restaurant co-owner and his mother were indicted Thursday on charges of burning the place down for insurance money. A federal grand jury in Orlando handed down a four-count indictment against restaurant co-owner and operator Forrest J. "Biff" Utter, 49, and his mother, Alice Pauline Duncan, 71. They were arrested Thursday evening and taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail, police said. A 1988 fire destroyed Utter's home in Kentucky while the home was in foreclosure."

There are too many cases of marital conflict turning deadly. Do Americans have too low a flash point? Or does too easy access to firearms make murder too easy, even in cases where guns are not used? @Zuzel: You have put your finger on the problem. Love is better than money as a national culture. (I must say that my wife and I were an instant match, and after 50 years together, we have never seriously considered a separation.)
@annacostello5181
@annacostello5181 Жыл бұрын
It’s mostly access to guns… not in Green’s case. But the number of rage-fueled shotgun deaths would go waaay down if guns weren’t immediately available before you have a chance to cool down. Yes, you can kill with knives or arson or your bare hands. But nothing so smoothly lethal as a bloody gun.

Now with the two murderers.... these are grown adults with we can only assume have adult minds...having the thought , but then using reasoning , for thought and all those special gifts that we are all given ,like right from wrong, or just the possibility that we won't get away with this,.then what ?are you /we still gonna take that chance. I know that no matter what someone /or things in life just aren't worth my freedom, not just physically but mentally. So with that being said, watch out if your significant other is immature, and low morals. Made a list ,but no ware on it was,.. any plans for what to do for the kids, when get caught and go to jail . And the second reallly takes the award for worst mother of the century ...just stay in your room and wait for ... 😓 oh my,and the daughter that escaped on her own ,no thanks to her loving monster of a mother. They skipped mentioning the part that her mother tried to kill her too, I'm sure for the sake of the girl.😑thanks mom. And all for what, revenge on their dad:(
