In high school my friends and I would play multiplayer on doom over our cutting edge high speed 14.4 dial up modems. It was so much fun. Just a big multiplayer deathmatch and we’d install mod packs and map packs. Those were the good ole days

The "remaster" itself is nothing special that you couldnt do with a sourceport since forever ago, BUT the new levels and OST mix are totally worth 9,99€. Plus most people will get this for free on steam/gog anyway.

I'm pretty sure Bethesda didn't really have much to do with this. If anything, they drag it down with their EULA that TECHNICALLY doesn't allow the mods you can add to the mod browser (yeah, seriously, lmao). Nightdive Studios is the one responsible for the hard work to make this and the Quake remasters.

According to an absurdly detailed KZbin video I watched recently, invisibility reduces the accuracy of enemy projectiles. Each time they fire a shot, a random offset is added to the attack direction. Invisibility increases the maximum angle of the offset

I just bought this version on the Switch. I saw it when checking out the e-shop and I thought, "Why not? You can never have too many versions of Doom." Or something like it. I haven't played it yet, and I thought it was just another port. I was thrilled when I started watching this video and learned it's much more than that.

Really the only thing that was remastered was the music (and not all of it), it's more like yet another source port of Doom, but it does combine all the main Doom content into one convenient package with some nice quality of life changes and a few nice additions like 16 player multi-player. It would have been nice if they had things like the colored lighting from GZDoom and the OPTION for free aim, but it's a solid port.

Its got a server browser built-in, deathmatching is so much easier now! It was always my problem with the modern doom experience that you needed one of a few zdoom forks and third party programs if you just wanted to BFG your friends for a bit.
