ahhh... the end of the chassis shop General Lee. This jump apparently killed it after being used for numerous stunts including jumps prior to this episode. And so ended the idea of the expensive re-usable General Lee, specially built for stunts and with a lighter weight 340. After this they decided it wasn't worth it

The actual dollar to dollar inflation amount (to 2019, or thereabouts) was about $633. But if your point is that it now takes several thousand to fix roughly the same mechanical failure, yeah, that's probably right. The thing is, they don't fix it, they replace the entire part, charge for diagnosis, and charge the labor amount based on a rate sheet. A scam to say the least.

Don't think Enos ever did, nor did Jesse. The Cooter subs didn't either. Of course, I have skipped most episodes with the substitute Dukes, so I may have missed some. Lulu driving the General was one of the funniest...she scared the boys.
