The Duratus Mind - A podcast exploring all things mindset and motivation. Gaz, a former Special Forces Sergeant Major but now performance consultant, opens up his network to try and understand what motivates some to risk so much, why some are so driven, and what it really takes to achieve success in any sector.
Today Gaz talks to Simon from The Natural Edge. Simon and Gaz served together on a number of deployments and have a lot of common thinking - but have never kicked some of these issues around before.
The Natural Edge was formed in 2017 but the journey for them started several years earlier when Simon Jeffries and John Sykes-Popham met during their military service. Both started out as Royal Marine Commandos before moving into the world of UK Special Forces with John serving as a Special Forces Communicator (SFC), and Simon as a member of the SBS. TNE combines elite military experience with cutting edge neuroscience and psychology to help individuals remove limitations, and forge peak performance.Follow Simon on all social media platforms @thenaturaledge or their website www.thenaturaledge.com

Did NOT disappoint. I have been looking forward to a conversation between these 2 thinking men, Gaz and Simon. Been considerably under the weather. Just recovering and so, JUST watched this. I wanted to be totally absolved in the conversation. I gleaned quite some. Thanks Gaz and Simon.

That’s unbelievable how powerful the word feed back means to recruits if they don’t receive it, it could unbalance their goal to achieve.

Great Podcast, thanks for sharing Gaz. Jeffers is always so easy to listen to and there is a lot on this one that aligns with the principles of Zanshin and elements of Kaizen as well as much, much more. Thanks again.

Great podcast guys. Gaz, I'm 28, do you reckon I'm too old to join the marines?

In short, no. I was in training with a 28/29 year old and who completed 22 years of service. Guish was one of the strongest and best guys in the troop. I was 18 and didn't know my arse from my elbow. It's not without certain challenges though. Feel free to grab a free chat through the website to discuss.
