I will suggest that after all demo is done and before you start to re build, is to have the place sprayed by a professional termite and ant abatement. this will help insure that the termites do not come back. I would have your engineer look at everything that you are leaving up to see if its structurally sound

I'm sure they're going to do some serious extermination too, but it's kind of pointless while everything is exposed to the elements. Once they have all the exterior walls up and a roof installed, having the place tented and thoroughly de-bugged is likely very high on their list.

Often times watching your videos, I will think..... is that roof safe? Did they check it before they started walking on it? Surely they did.... and then there is a soft spot you can fall through. 😮 😂 When you started playing slow music to your new hobby of scooping tar off roofs. 😂 Love your videos, thank you so much for sharing with us! As a mom also praying for your safety. My husband who used to work in construction as a teenager, they always told him to be careful when you get comfortable because that's when you step back into traffic or step back off the side of the building. Just repeating what others have shared, but apparently they bought the whole thing prized for the value of the land. The house was correctly advertised as 'for demolition'. And I mean...even if nothing is left in the end. They spend the whole summer doing what a demolition company could have done in a week (or something, I don't actually know). But instead of paying big bucks for having it removed, they consistently generated a *very* good income by doing the work themselves and putting it on KZbin. It's a win-win situation for them, no matter what. If they had hated the work, it would have been different. But they seemed to have had a lot of fun doing this, so while it's sad little was salvageable, the whole thing isn't the disaster it would have been for 'normal people '.

Soil roofs are/were actually a thing. It's just tarpaper under there, I think this was the actual roof. There's the right way to do it (vapor barriers, hard cladding), and then there's the way this house was done.
