Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about curves in the comments below! :)

Hi can you please help me with a couple of issues Ive been dealing with while trying to use curves in a similar way I use splines in 3D Max…firstly when drawing out a profile object using a curve to be used as a door architrave detail the problem I have is with each extrusion I end up with double segments overlapping yet the remove doubles function does not remove them…its like extruding creates a loop instead of a straight vector line…similarly using the filliet function curves the line but leaves a ghost outline? Secondly why does the bevel object extrusion taper at vector points if set to 3D…I need to apply a custom profile to the door architrave with even thickness? Its driving me mad

Very helpful! This method for redrawing the Bezier curve is so handy that Blender should just give you the option of starting a Bezier curve with zero vertices, so you won't have to keep deleting all the given vertices each time before you draw.

A splendid presentation of how to use the curve. I have seen many of your videos over the course of several years by now and I live what you do. Please just keep up the good work! :-)

This is super useful, I saw tutorials on how to use curves, paths and bevels, but it was complicated and took a lot of time, especially to find which coordinate to work with to give me the result I wanted. I want to try to make fantasy houses, but they usually have roofs with exaggeratedly curved shapes, so it is very complicated for me, and with this I will have an easier time doing it, thank you very much for the mini tutorial.

On a previous video you touched on the draw on surface option and it opened up a curvy world for me.

Honestly, I did not know as I'm not totally fluid with blender (still learning), and these quick tips are a life saver. I love learning things without the video dragging on. Love the video. Keep them coming.

For years i never knew this, i always just use curve and extrude it lol. Thank you. This way is going to reduce my time doing racetrack kerbs along with array.

One example use of this was, when I tried to make a bell with lots of carvings on it. Making a carving, intricate, detailed and on the sorface of a curving object is a nightmare without a tool like this.

Nice video. If you move the surface in one area, how do you edit the curve and have it snap back to the surface?

Is there anyway to pause drawing a curve and then continue later? Like in the case of drawing a curve completely around and object, you would need to stop and reposition the camera to continue. I'm aware I can simply draw the other side and merge the ends, but It's an extra step, so I wonder if there a way to do it in one go.

How is that your curve has "legs" along the line. I am not getting those? What is the purpose of those - besides looking cool like a millipede?

1)Idk how to draw perfect Curves shape as we do with pen in other softaware like 3ds Max and C4D, for example to make cad thinks, 3d logos etc... 2)Will be intereting too a series of tutorial on geo nodes and the implementation with Curves and Meshes to create interesting things. Because Geo nodes have the greatest potential in Blender but are also confusing. 3)Do u know why sometimes when i rotate or scale an object It Will note use his median point (with median point Active) and use the center world point? It's frustrating 😅

For your 3rd question, you can change the centre of rotation in Blender settings (around selected objet instead of center of view, it feels more logical to me too)

I used to use SoftImage XSI and LightWave, both of them introduced node systems but didn't consort with the users like Blender did and they where monumentally difficult to use. I suspect it was the end for both packages. The programmers assumed that artists understood mathematics - No! LOL There are a few tutorials out there on Geo Nodes that touch on the differences between radians and degrees and what to use where, once you get that, it opens up a lot. Plus someone needs to do a video breaking down the node groups, there's just so many of them!
