CORRECTIONS: 1) 3G Integra sedans DO have frameless glass windows (hatches don't). I own a hatch but sedans are super rare in Canada (the 1.6EL replaced them after '97) so its been years since I've seen one and I forgot. 2) There is obviously no H in VTEC. I am aware of this. I would like to blame this on autocorrect 👀

I believe it's also worth mentioning that the early JDM Integra Type R had a 4x114.3 wheel bolt pattern. A lot of people, even some hardcore Honda enthusiasts, don't know there are sets of 4x114.3 Type R wheels just floating out in the used market somewhere.

I really hate how Honda tried to retcon the 4-door Integra into being mainstream. Then they tried to gaslight us into thinking that the 4-door was anything other than undesirable and the subject of ridicule. Call it what it really is: a cash grab. I'm ok with a cash grab, especially since it genuinely is a solid car...but the marketing they built around it is an insult to my intelligence. 2nd gen Integra is my favorite. I spent several years with one and really enjoyed working on it and driving it.

Even when the RSX cane around, I was just a kid 🥹 and it always intrigued me. 20 years later I had a car accident from my Civic Si 2012 coupe… despite how frustrated I was, four days later I managed to find my dream car thanks to God, a _Acura RSX Type-S_ (2002), blue, one owner 100,998 miles on it. 😱‼️ *naniii* ⁉️It’s been over a year and I am so happy to have it! 😌 Been working on it ever since… Then we got the 2023 “Integra”. Look… let’s face it. Acura is at it again with their marketing strategy of naming things. I am not saying is not a powerful machine or a fast and well build car. I just can’t connect with it as the previous generations. Especially when is a car that doesn’t exist in Japan but exclusively here in North America and build here. I can’t even find who designed it but you can tell it doesn’t have the Japanese touches as it would in its natural environment at the land of the rising sun. Is too American like the second gen NSX.

I bought a 1995 Integra GS-R coupe/fastback when the Gen3 came out, which for me, will always be one of the greatest, very obtainable, driver's cars ever made. I did cat back Sunk(works) exhaust, DC Sports 4 -2-1 exhaust header, DC Sports cold air intake with the anti-hydro lock mid-filter backup system, adjustable coil-over Bilstein suspension, larger sway bars with harder bushings, rear and front strut mounts,17" DVS 8 rims, and the car handled like a mini-supercar, ultra flat cornering, very predictable 4 wheel slides, and very manageable understeering when setup correctly. The car was stolen from me a week after I had paid off the loan (3 years ownership). I got the title a month later, a week after the shell was recovered on a side street in crap-hole Hartford, CT. (it had a Viper aftermarket alarm system, and a clutch club engaged, and they got that thing in less than 15 minutes) I hope whoever stole it built that motor/trans up and raced it at least, or put the powertrain in a 92 Civic hatch. 30 years later and it still feels like that one special girl you loved in your 20's that somehow got away, but you'll never forget her. I've had band new 2012, 2015, and 2018 Civic Si models (consecutive leases) and that DC2 Integra is still "the one" that got away. A new 2025 Civic Type R (champ white) is my current goal.

It needs a lot of work (it was sitting in my landlord’s shop on his lift for 5 years prior to me buying it) but I’m beyond excited to bring this thing back to life! Also I promise I’m not going to rice it, although a JDM Type R Replica isn’t out of the question considering it needs a lot of work and was already crashed in the front leading to the front bumper and hood not aligning perfectly (I also don’t fit great in the stock seats so some Yellow Special edition Type R Recaro SR3s may be the best choice to stay within the realm of good taste with the CGP paint, while letting me actually have some leg room 😂)… But we’ll see what happens, right now I’m just doing maintenance items like fixing an exhaust leak, and soon I’m going to have to do my clutch master cylinder which sucks but should be a good learning experience)…

Third Gen Integras are best integras. Also fully agree with your notes on the latest one they are releasing. While I am sure it's an awesome car, it's way too expensive and hard to get. Likewise, I rather get myself a ultra clean third gen. Friend of mine had an abused 1995 with guetto matt paint job and stupidly low profile tires... Still awesome to drive and one of the best feeling manual transmissions ever. The RSX while fatter, also an awesome car. I guess more civilized in a way in terms of comfort.

So I own one of the new Integra A-Spec models with the 6 speed manual, and it's actually not really an upbadged Civic. Let me explain. First, the chassis is completely unique. Sure it's the same platform, but the entire body shares NO sheet metal with any Civic model, whatsoever. It's also touted as being 5% stiffer than the Civic. Additionally, the engine is the L15CA from the Civic Si, not the L15B7 from the other Civics. Honda/Acura claims this engine makes 200hp, but it's been shown by Hondata to be making 220hp in the Si, and 235hp in the Integra. It has a unique turbo and the Integra gets its own 91 octane tune over the Civic. Additionally, the Integra offers a limited slip diff, which is only shared with the Civic Si as well. When looking at the interior, even compared with the Civic Si, the Integra is also mostly unique. Sure it shares the same displays and buttons, but the dashboard is unique to the Integra and the seats are too. In the manual-equipped models, you get alcintara seats as well. It's also worth noting the unique liftback design, which no Honda product shares. You'll also be pleased to know that the new Integra weighs only 3,000 pounds, living up to the legacy of lightweight efficient designs. It even has adaptive dampers, which the Civic does not have, and these noticeably change the ride characteristics with the drive mode changes. That doesn't even go into all the feature changes like the 16 speaker sound system, fog lights, heated seats, memory position seats, head-up display, and more. You really should test drive a manual-equipped model to see how you like it. I think you'll find it's every bit an Integra, and it deserves the name. The issue is that cars have kept pace with inflation, so what was a $20,000 car in the 90s is now a $40,000 car, and you'll find that the inflation matches that pricing exactly. It's also worth noting that with a good set of tires, the new A-Spec Integra is actually faster than the 2001 Type-R. The Type-S they're selling now gets much more than 5hp over the Type-R, too, again as found by Hondata.
@AcuraAdvice Жыл бұрын

Agreed with all this as an owner of a 2023 A-Spec 6-MT. The Integra does share some with the Civic, but has so many upgraded features that is feels like its own car.
