Well the very phraseology frames 2+2 as 4 as a fact rather than a hypothetical. It is purposefully phrased so when answered differently, I turn out to be the bad guy. Well, consider this. Karl Marx is obviously not an authority on the matter, but I read an Ayn Rand book that said 2+2=5. Obviously math is just an abstract concept, so I'm gonna go with 5 here.

Here's the preface from the beginning of the Political Compass Test on the official site: "Before taking the test: Please note that this isn’t a survey, and these aren’t questions. They’re propositions. To question the logic of individual ones that irritate you is to miss the point. Some propositions are extreme, and some are moderate. That’s how we can show you whether you lean towards extremism or moderation on the Compass. Your responses should not be overthought. Some of them are intentionally vague. Their purpose is to trigger reactions in the mind, measuring feelings and prejudices rather than detailed opinions on policy." Michael Knows-Less and Beebo Shapeebo: [literally do the exact opposite of what the preface tells them because they are Big-Brained 5Head Boys]

This reminds me of the ''Wahl-o-mat'' we have here in Germany. Before nearly every election it goes online with the parties that are able to be voted for and the questions are based on the programs of the parties and often the group behind the ''wahl-o-mat'' asks the parties also these questsions to get their standpoint. Then you take that quiz like this - Just spontaneus without overthinking the question even while you are able to click on a button that explains the idea behind the question. In the end you see how the viewpoints of the different parties agree with your own. It's not meant to be taken as serious.

Former conservative here. The trope with the pilgrims is cherry picked from the writings of William bradford. Basically it boils down to the very first year they had agreed to live communally, sharing their harvests and work, etc. and for several reasons it was a disastrous year. After which they adopted laze fare capitalism (as intended all along) and it was a great year. Thom Hartmann actually did a video on that too, a massive electrical company admitted to killing a bunch of people because they were cutting corners with how they installed wiring. If you killed 10 people you’d at least go to jail for life, maybe get the death penalty. But corporations can pay a little fine at the most and continue on like nothing happened.

Cause Stalin is dead, and they want to tie Soviet Union to Bernie and just disprove what he says is bad simply by him “being like the Soviet Union which was bad”. And for Hitler, as Vaush said, because they are pushing the lie that Hitler was secretly a leftist and there is a global conspiracy from Marxist educated historians to pin Nazism on the right when in reality it is on the left. If they acknowledged Hitler being auth-right, it would end their lie.
