Real Royalty

3 жыл бұрын

Michael Buerk and chef Anna Haugh recreate a 16th century savoury tart, with which a Tudor king broke his Lenten fast. Dr Annie Gray visits the Isle of Wight to discover how much modern Christmas owes to Queen Victoria, and chef Dipna Anand cooks a Diwali sweet that impressed the heir to the throne.
From Elizabeth II to Cleopatra, Real Royalty peels back the curtain to give a glimpse into the lives of some of the most influential families in the world, with new full length documentaries posted every week covering the monarchies of today and all throughout history.

My Mom also taught me how to make Yorkshire Pudding, and mine are just like that. We take the eggs and milk out in the morning so they are at room temperature when making the mix. As well, we use bacon fat which is in the oven at 450 prior to putting in the mix. Back in at 450 for 30 minutes and watch them rise like you have never had before!! If you are doubling the recipe, be sure to do this separately in another bowl. Do not double the recipe in the same bowl. 2 eggs (beaten) Add 1 cup of milk Add 1/2 tsp salt Add 1cup of flour Remember eggs and milk at room temperature. I just take them out in the morning and set them on the counter. Use 1/2 tsp of bacon fat in each of the muffin things!

@@kimmacrae8623 - thank you. My recipe is identical except for the bacon fat. I just just the beef drippings from the roast. My oven is getting old, I’ve had to adjust many recipes. Mom used to like the Yorkshire pudding cold with jam. I like that too, but rarely we have any left over from supper.

If you want yorkshire pudding to poof the highest. remember one thing. The ingredients need to be room temperature. Yorkshire pudding does not like to be cold. Then it goes into a piping hot prepared pan, with beef drippings, I use oxo and lard, and individual muffin tins, preheated at 425F And yep, never fails. Just set your milk and eggs onto the counter in the morning, and whip it up before cooking.
