Dam Boedy I didn't realize that a timing advance would make that big of difference in a chainsaw I know you have done it before but this is the first time I think you have really shown a big difference!

It's because many of the 372 clones, especially the Neotec/ Farmmac saws, have really poor timing in stock trim. I probably have it advanced about 12⁰ and on a OEM 372 you probably would only go half that far or less. It's just highlighting how bad it was stock.

Awesome boedy I have built my first clone neotec 372xp kit from 2 stroking and I'm applying all you teach ..!! I'm so psyched to meet you guys next weekend ....I live bought an hour northwest of Guernsey fairgrounds in off 36 and so blessed to be able to see all the chainsaw gurus/enthusiasts......this is my fair haha love learning and porting from what started as getting an ol honelite up and running to a whole fleet of saws ! Love it

I know! I had the same thought. Oh no, that piston shattered! But I could see the flywheel spinning, so I was relieved right away.

That notch bar on the saw looks great. What might help you do timing advances are with a timing wheel. It makes it easier to keep track of. On 372's I found about 6 degrees but that may vary with different after market flywheels and crankshafts.

The 365/372 Neotec’s had a defect in manufacturing on the cranks. They were 1 half to 1 full keyway with retarded compared to oem. That’s much more than 6 degrees.

Is this a farmtec or neotec? I thought the newer pro neotec's with the italian coils/flywheel are meant to be better with timming similar to oem?. Was considering one of those black/grey 660 neotec's, does the 372 version have the same Italian coil/flywheel?🤷🏻‍♂️

Probably so people use the 372's up bad! When timber dudes are done with them they are ready for a complete rebuild and new plastics usually around here!
