One of my greatest memories was when I was soloing in Edge, and a guy asked if I wanted to duo and go to MTI, he said he was Elvemage and I called BS. He said "one minute wait here" and here appeared Elvemage beside me doing emotes since he was Perm muted. Those days make me wish I could go back.

Haha I did the same thing. I met him in a Boxxy Group when we were trying to figure out who she was and he asked if I played RuneScape, I told him yeah. He said he was Elvemage I called BS we logged in and sure enough there he was and everybody started following him. He made me a mod in his friends chat. I have him on Steam, but he hasn't been active in awhile.

Of course younger players coming into the game passed the rumors of who Zezima might be to their friends, and so on.

By 2006 there were so many people following Zezima around in the overworld, that when he clicked on the world to move, it took ~5 minutes each time for the game to visually move to that tile, it was all he could do to move in game when it was happening. People would make "search parties" at Lumby who spread out around the map until they found where in-game Zezima was training at the time or gave up. I expect Elvemage had a similar problem once it started happening to him, where he couldn't even do anything in game for all the lag from people following him. He could no longer do the one thing in game he enjoyed the most-- go into the wild and find a worthy opponent. Which is probably a large factor of why he started openly luring.

Started runescape during middle school I made my account in the library , I would get off school and run to the library every day , I will begg my mom to take me and my grandma on Saturdays yo the library too . I went as far to ask all my relatives to lend me their library cards so I can get more hours on the library's computer .this game was and is my childhood I mean I did what I could to play as much as I wanted since my parents couldn't afford a computer and internet. Games come and go but runescape will always be there for me even now as an adult I love it even more .

Fast forward to college when a friend of a friend mentioned that it had come out on mobile. I swear the only reason I got my degree was because I could afk things while studying and doing homework. As an adult you might learn time management skills, or organizational skills, or the value of hard work. I think with the advent of social media it’s easy to compare your lows with other people’s highs. We are with ourselves all the time so of course we’re intimate with our own failures and shortcomings, and we constantly compare that to other people’s highlights that they post. Just know that if you are making progress in something, anything at all, you’re winning. If you find joy in any little thing then you’re in a good position, even if that joy is an hour of Wild Rift a day or whatever you might choose. Life is fucking crazy for everyone. I don’t think anyone has it figured out. Maybe by the time you hit 40 is when you start figuring it out, *maybe*. What has worked for me is: meditating, working out (both weight training and cardio. Don’t skip cardio!), drinking enough water, getting 15 min of sunlight every morning. I’ve learned that big change comes from doing little things like that, consistently. The story of my account is the most early 00's ever. When I was in 4th grade I started playing RS. I was pretty bad and did not really understood anything. A guy that was 1 year older then me was really good and he had done Dragon Slayer (which was a big deal back then). He offered me his account in exchange of 2 Yu Gi Oh cards (a blue eye and a fake gods card, can't remember the name). I got his account and I would wear rune plate and green dragonhide. He had some stats in the 40's! I still to this day play on the same account that this guy "sold" me!

His name being testament of that, in RuneScape Classic you had the hit someone a minimum of three times before they could die. Man... there were so many people I remember. I like how the intro frames the early 2000s as not having pc games. I had a flash drive with halo and several dozen snes and n64 games that I'd run on school computers in middle school, around 2004. We had a 16 player lan party in my study hall every friday for the entirety of 9th grade. Flash games were just cheeky fun in a different way. Hey willmissit, I just want to let you know that creators such as yourself are the reason I use Adblock. To have 6 double ads which take 10 seconds (30+ seconds if unskippable) on a 20 minute video that already has a 2 minute raid sponsorship, seems pretty scummy. The Raid sponsor itself is questionable considering I reckon most creators give Raid a negative ROI; it's a bubble waiting to pop. It's practices like these that will help you in the short term, but in the long term you're going to lose the raid sponsor (surely you don't believe they'll be willing to pay you for the same recycled ad read forever) and all your viewers will be using adblock so they don't get interrupted every 3 minutes by an obnoxious ad. If you are already doing KZbin fulltime I heavily suggest looking into better ways to monetize your channel. As a start how about you take initiative and find a sponsor you like and support and see if they'd be willing do work out a deal; instead of waiting for some shitty brand to email you begging you to do an ad read for a few hundred bucks. I met the guy who created miniclip,and his name was Rob, he made the site at university n was set for life when he sold it. He viewed a house to purchase, he'd arrived in a 63 AMG at the time which he said he had to buy as he ferrari didn't fit a child seat (newly a father) he was really a top dude!

Love the content! I remember when I finally got an account with similar stats. Felt amazing. I do have to disagree with what you said in regards to him being an average pker at best. During this time there were no F-Keys, nobody even came close to being able to pull this style off in members. He became big because he was a pioneer of bridding and one of the best at it during the time. Great content man!

Personally, I agree: I think a lot of people who claimed he was average in 2009 went by 2009 standards and not what was available in 2007. Though I do think there would've been better PKers out there, considering recording tools meant additional CPU usage on already not so powerful computers in 2007. Some of the top shelf ones likely didn't feel the need or could record and upload videos. I am however a documentarist and I go by the facts available to me, and they say Elvemage was average, so that's what I have to showcase :P

@@rswillmissit most of the 05-07 community used filesharing sites for their videos (filefront/megaupload etc yt wasnt really a thing then) there were plenty across the couple main forums. elvemage was not a good pker. his vids were killing pvers, as is clear in the clips even you chose. he was a joke among the core os pvp community

@@Mark-xb8ydfacts. However IMHO, pking and pvping aren't exactly the same. Pking has no real rules. Pvp is more standardized. If I pk you while you're mining, it's still fair. However if we both decide to pvp it's different. In layman's terms, pking can be anything from a Mexican standoff to an assassin backstabbing and killing you. It doesn't have to be honorable if you know what I mean. Pvp is more of an "honorable" fight. Pking is just straight up killing another player character whether they're ready for it or not. Lol. Just my take on it the way I see it

I pked with him quite a bit before he got big I remember finding out when his stuff started getting popular from some irl friends back home. I got sent to military school and then boarding school 9th and 10th grade and had little ability to play rs but I remember when my friends showed me some of the videos we were in

do you remember P0ke n die2? LOL people won't believe me. But that was, and is me. It's a complicated story, but the original owner of the account was my bestfriend in middle school, he sold me his account for a dime bag of weed, and a nintendo 64 with all the popular, top 10 games. He made 2 videos before he sold the account, and once I was owner, I would record the videos and he would edit them, and post them on his channel. He eventually gave me the channel, and I was posting on my own, I joined the pure clan Calamity, and continued pking, once trade limit, and wilderness left, I pretty much quit the game, and moved onto private servers, where I made 1 video, and tried starting up Calamity, with some mates from the OG clan on 07. I went by the name "Eleqtriq". There are 2 youtube channels still available today, which are both fakes. One even has 15k subs which I find funny. In the end I quit 07, finished HS, went to college, and moved on with my life, I was always into Pure nhing though during pre eoc, I watched loads of vids, and had some pretty big pkers who were still friends of mine, when osrs came though I made a new account, and started pure nhing, and I just gave the whole gig up, I didn't really care for fame, we weren't that known anyway, but there are people who do remember. I'm still friends with the "original" owner, I was his best man in his wedding. These were such nostalgic and great times. I still have every single vid on my computer, as time went on I would save the video's onto my new computers, and just kept them for memories. If anyone who was in CY still plays hmu.

Jagex killed wilderness by making rules of what is allowed in it. Its a pvp area all risk at own cost. Means if you cross the wild and go in it was your choice. So elvnmage was banned purely upon them making up rules after things happen which is against grandfather rules in legality.

f2p pking/ planned pk run in/ clan wars was the best back then. DS vs DI , N I was terrorrizing and crashing clan wars at the greater demons at the wildernerness.. CL vs Corruption.. THE clan vs Adelais.. f2p clan wars at the wilderness was so much fun back then..

I actually used to PK with one of Elvemage's partners, Bloodhoun94 was his name I belive. He said Elvemage was a dick to PK with. He wouldn't share loot, always make Bloodhoun94 teleblock, get less action, stuff like that. I'd PK all day with Bloodhoun94 some days. He was a very nice guy, He would always share loot with me when we got a kill. I miss those days. I loved being a range/mage PKer. I'd get wrecked by these kids these days
