@CS-eq7ki3 жыл бұрын
The problem is not crypto, which is a possible way out of tyranny for many countries who are under dictatorships, it's people being unethical assholes and knowingly promoting scams. Remember when Faze were promoting those gambling boxes where you would get a sticker or sneakers? That was gambling targeting kids, same pattern as this, and it was for $, not crypto. So don't blame a potential useful tool that could help people, for these jerks' lack of conscience. It's really too bad this stuff didn't come out before Faze went public.
@CS-eq7ki3 жыл бұрын
This series is proof that crypto is awesome, because it made it possible for unregulated detectives like SOG and Coffee to figure out the scams. So it actually makes it harder for people to conceal shady shit bc that info is publicly traceable on the ledger, and visible to anyone, instead of traditional banking, which you would have never gotten to see.

Source: My mother worked for the IRS for 42 years and I thought her job was interesting: For what it's worth, as long as you report it the IRS doesn't give a shit where your money comes from. There's literally a box on a 1040 and a schedule C form that says "other income". As long as you report the income (you don't even have to provide a source for it) and pay taxes on it, they could not give less of a shit because that's where their scope of purpose begins and ends. It's not their job. Funny enough while a lot of criminals don't, there have been multiple US drug kingpins taken down and it was found out they paid all their taxes because of some variation of "Shit that's how they got Al Capone, I wasn't going to go down like that." In fact, the IRS doesn't investigate money laundering nor do they care about it, and they are actually prohibited from referring any suspected criminal activity including money laundering to the FBI for criminal investigation, they're strictly about "give uncle sam his cut and he won't ask no questions". Now Banks, the SEC, etc are required to report, but the reality is with the nature of crypto, they don't actually HAVE to be doing this elaborate money laundering scheme which is FAR more illegal and FAR more prison time than they'd get for the casino stuff. They're playing themselves hard. If they report the damn income and pay it in a cashier's check or money order, both of which are purchasable directly with crypto, they are fine. Leave the money in the wallets, use crypto to pay where you can, and extract via money order (less than 10,000, preferably WAY less) don't even involve the banks. This is maddeningly stupid to watch them commit a WAY WORSE CRIME than they are guilty of when if they just engaged a financial lawyer they would not need to do this shit. The Money Laundering would firmly be in the FBI's scope of investigation now they may employ forensic accountants that work for the IRS because they have the best Forensic Accountants in the country, but the FBI would be the primary investigator on money laundering.

If only these youtubers would put as much effort and devotion, and were as passionate, about the filthy, manipulative, disgusting microtransactions in video games, that turned a beautiful, lovely gaming industry into basically online casinos, I would sleep much better. Because at the end, these people who are gambling in these casinos, 1, are totally aware everything is super shady, and potentially illegal, and 2, if they have cryptos, paypal and credit cards to buy vpns and cryptos, then, they have a job, are probably 18, and the money they gamble would probably end up as tips for a few titty streamers... Because if you know you are being stolen, and you keep doing the same shit, then maybe you deserve to be stolen.. So yes, expensive in-game purchases, loot boxes, and microtransactions, those worry me 1 million times more...! That's why I would like these youtubers, especially when they have 500k subs, 1 million, 2 million, etc etc, to join forces, and start actively talking about ţhose issues, until some big medias start reporting it. Because 1 youtuber ranting about microtransactions, loot boxes, EA, fifa, etc, in a video, it will make 0 impact. But if tomorrow, 100...1'000....10'000 youtubers, started making these kinds of researches, with numbers and everything explained, and hundreds of millions of gamers, and their parents learned about all that stuff, and learned their kids just spent 20 bucks on a fortnite skin, or 3 player boxes in fifa, etc etc, and suddenly, everybody started looking at sony, Ms, etc, and EA, blizzard, etc etc, and the medias picked up the stories, maybe then we could get some positive changes...! Since 2010, basically all AAA games were built around some kind of economic model. Without anyone to stop them, they even dare putting microtransactions in single player titles ! So yes, that concerns me muuuuch more than these casinos. But nobody cares about it...

@@Elevatedbongwater My whole point is I see a lot of people calling it a “scam” “the roobet scam” which it’s not. Is it unethical? that’s up to each individual to decide you and I can see a problem with it someone else can think it’s fine doesn’t make it a scam as for the whole kid thing idk a single 8 year old who can buy set up a vpn sign up for a gambling website and gamble lol teens yeah sure but imo that’s the responsibility of the parent same thing as drinking drugs etc we don’t see people calling for the heads of people who promote alcohol ? Or artist who promote drugs? Let me give an example let’s say I’m a parent of a 16 year old kid he drinks and drives without me knowing he gets in a car accident can I sue the alcohol company or the actor celebrity whatever that promoted it? No I can’t because he’s my kid my responsibility it’s the same thing gambling is a vice like anything else

Yeah even though "regulated" Casino's and gambling are just as corrupt and scam way more people.. Yet they are going after online-gambling.. It makes no sense.. The only difference here is that "regulated" Casino's and gambling fork over huge chunks to the Government which is how they can get away with murder.. This is all incredibly hypocritical.. Gambling is gambling.. the people who run gambling, no matter if they are regulated or not, are harming Millions of people and scamming their money.. You think Big Casino's dont fix their books and machines? Dont be naive lol.. You think Big Casino's arent laundering money and doing all types of shady things???...

Crypto is actually a great hedge against the dollar because most of em are appreciating assets. Ie: what's more valuable 1 BTC, or the price of one btc in cash? Which is better option. The 1 BTC. Because tomorrow shoot up in value 10 thousand dollars. While the dollar for sure is going to have 12 percent less spending power by the end of the year than it did at the begenning. Also it keeps the government politicians in line and it's going to put a halt to alot of their shady business dealings. The only thing going on right now is most of the ppl in the world arent tech savvy. And they have no idea about crypto currencies yet. But that's going to change. If u can buy what ever u can afford to get your hand on and just hold it for as long u can.
