This explains those high score teams with dancer skills and other badly built teams. They weren’t being nice, they were colluding with other players who knew those teams were easy wins. Sadly, there is collusion in all the PVP modes including arena, Aether Raids and Summoner Duels.

IIRC, the reason this worked was that the matchmaking system had 2 conditions it used to determine which teams you can match against. 1.The highest scoring unit on the defense team needed to be within a certain range of the highest scoring unit on your team. 2.The total score on the defense team needed to be within a certain range of the total score of your team. The point of the funny low scoring units was to manipulate your team score in such a way that there would be no defense team that met both conditions, in which case the game only used the first condition as a fallback. That's why you needed a really, really high scoring unit(it didn't actually need to be in the first slot, btw, that was just a convention) to pull it off, it would minimize the amount of teams you could face, and thus making the exploit feasible without using an unsustainable amount of arena crests.

I mostly use favorites and never really cared for scoring very well, i tend to hover around tier 20. I also clear it really fast now once a week. But the 7 battle no resets system from when the game was new did also not help to motivate me for caring about arena, and there are players just skip arena.

woah they finally patched this? crazy. the earliest documented knowledge of it was somewhere in 2018. also fun fact, there WAS a google doc with matching teams made easy to beat for people using the exploit. this isn't even a tinfoil hat theory that just actually happened

You know what? I played FEH since Mystic Altina came out, but getting to Arena 21 is ridiculous! Like how many Dulling Crests do you have to spend for getting into higher Arena, hmm, I mean sure you can +10 units and invest a couple Rally and Attack+ skills. But you have to invest a lot of time mergeing into +10 for each of those characters, and the banner that you want for that merging takes way too long for that banner to come back!

Use the bonus Legendary and you don’t need to use crests to find higher scores. The bonus Legendary guarantees you get the highest team score every match regardless of the opponents’ actual team scores. Usually a +0 bonus Legendary is enough to stay in tier 21 if your core units are recent and score well.

I kind of slowed down on Arena because I don't have certain legends and don't necessarily have the money/orbs to play that singular mode with certain characters. But Summoner Duels is going well though apparently

Basically build 3 +10 recent F2P Units, tipically recent demotes if you are lucky and grail units. Add a bonus Unit and that should take you to or around T20. From there it's a question of "do you have the bonus Legendary?", if yes, enjoy your free bump to T21 and may with some investment stay there next season. You don't have the bonus legendary? Just stay at T20 or chill a get demoted from T21 to T20 for the next time you have the bonus Legendary again

On another note, I feel like FEH must be the least buggy game I've played in a while. It's also the game that has the least amount of server maintenance. I don't know how they do it.

When I first heard of this I gave it a go out of curiosity. It was nearly impossible to score KOs with the bonus unit. Scoring optimally was therefore much easier using an actual team, so I didn’t hop on the bandwagon.

All this about bringing a team for the arena and I don't think I've even put that amount of thought into it. I just bring my default team, hit the purple button, and try to get my free ticket. Admittedly this method has struggled since the advent of the emblems, but I can just judge the people with those teams in my own time

I'm actually surprised it wasn't more well-known. I honestly thought it was one of those things everybody knew about but kinda just ignored it. I found out about that exploit yeaaars ago when I wanted to get into Arena more seriously, random posts online were talking about it and explaining how to do it. I never used it since it seemed like a very boring strat, but since it was so easy to find info about it I'm surprised it was considered kind of a secret exploit. But I suppose most people are probably too casual to even look that kind of stuff up. I had no idea they had fixed it though. It wouldn't have survived the crazy power creep we've gotten lately anyway ._.

Think this was wayback when kindoflethal just kinda talked about it. It was back in a time where people refered to this exploit as the dark arts. He kinda didn't like how people were abusing other players. I believe he called out a few content creators too notably being the aka2 guy.

I've been playing since day 1 I never knew about this. When the whole exploit came out I was trying to do it but failed so I gave up on it. Although after it was mentioned to the rest of the world I matched with those same exploiters while I did Arena like normal. Sad to say I still never got my first crown until....a few months ago, I'm bad in Arena as is xD
