Your videos should get a lot more views than they do. I know you put a lot of time and effort into them. Great job.

We have the freedom to think and postulate about our place in the universe precisely because we do not know, yet. And isn’t it wonderful that we try to answer this question by reason and scientific hypotheses, instead of supposing elephants on a turtle’s back etc. That we have parted with myth and begun testing our theories is a positive and commendable thing.

It seems that the problem with the Paradox is that there are too many plausible Solutions. This only highlights our lack of knowledge about the state of play with regards to our place in the universe. Although interesting conjecture it appears that the Paradox is a long way from being solved

They are all in my backyard. They are a menace. It must be a Goldilocks yard - Any ideas on how I can keep them out of the bins?

The Fermi paradox is based on the assumption that advanced civilizations use vast amounts of energy, enough to be visible from Earth. But that assumption may not be true. An advanced civilization most certainly has not only low mortality rate, but low birth rate, stable population, sustainable society in a planet with finite resources. In such conditions there is no need to colonize other stars, or even other planets. With a small, stable population, sustainable society and plenty of resources, their only goal would be to make their lives better and more comfortable. No need for an interstellar or even an interplanetary colonization. At most they would just send robotic probes to other stars for scientific curiosity. And because their energy comsumption would be small, they would not be visible from Earth. The assumption that advanced civilizations inevitably develop into interplanetary or interstellar civilizations is most certainly false.

Very true. The idea of expanding one's "domain" is human, because we're dumb enough to not know how to manage resources effectively. Aliens may be smarter in that way.

What if the ET's are a type 2, 3 or 4 civilization? (Yes a type 4) So advanced they are basically pure energy? And these types can, and do communicate with humans. however, 95% of the time its moot. What if they can utilize A.I. and machines to interface? And they're guiding humanity into an apparent technocracy. 👾👾👾 😁

@Ashley Noel ....Cause they are energy, it could be possible they are the fundamental partical themselves with consciousness how to behave and interact and we call them as physics rules....😏

9:16 onwards. these are great ideas for people kept looking for aliens. I've been preaching these ideas on the internet that to me, it is not worth spending money/time to contact aliens. 11:36 though weakened the previously mentioned ideas. I don't like this idea as it brings back the old philosophy of humans being the center of everything.

What about an alien retention field around the outer Solar System to block outside signals from being detected on earth!

Faster than the speed of light ? I thought according to Einstein that isn't possible ?
@LondonCityGirl6 жыл бұрын
At light speed would be the fastest we can go - theoretically that is. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, that's one of the physical laws of our universe :) I'll be making a video on that in the new year.
@ianclarke36276 жыл бұрын
@@LondonCityGirlThanks for replying and please excuse my ignorance but did you say other galaxies are moving away from us because of dark energy faster than the speed of light ? . Also it confuses me that the universe is expanding and all the galaxies are moving further away from each other how come we're on a collision course with andromeda ?
@zodiacfml6 жыл бұрын
That was just poor choice of words. Imagine the space between millimeter lines on a ruler expanding at 1 millimeter going away from each other (expansion of the universe). The rate is 1mm per second but if we measure the rate of change of distance from one end of the ruler to the other end, it will be a lot higher. It will appear that the distance end to end is increasing so fast ( that it appears faster than the speed of light) but in reality only the space between objects are increasing
@ianclarke36276 жыл бұрын
@@zodiacfml right thanks for replying , like 2 trains moving away in the opposite direction will be twice the speed although they are still moving at the same speed ?.So are we travelling towards andromeda faster than the speed of light because andromeda is heading in our direction or are both travelling in a direction that will eventually collide but not directly head on towards each other ??? Dazed and Confused , as they say.
@zodiacfml6 жыл бұрын
@@ianclarke3627 yes on the trains. i actually use a similar concept to understand the speed of light coming from a fast moving object. The greater than speed of light rate of distance happens at longer distances, not between our galaxy and andromeda. It is not a head on collision but you have a point that this is not greater than the speed of the expansion of the universe. However, personally, this seemingly expansion of the universe may not be close to the truth as scientists cant agree on the exact rate of expansion and there is something amiss.
