I want to say several things. First of all, even though we have never met, I really enjoy the closeness of friendship that you extend to all of your online viewers. It is like a close social network, like sitting in a restaurant over a meal, discussing life. I really am touched by your kindness and heart as well as all the energy that you put into these videos. I am happy that you have a partner and am so sorry that you have been stalked. It aggravates me when people try to tell you how to live your life, prescribing what to do and how to act. We have way too much of this kind of behavior here in the polarized USA. My fiance died in February after five years together. There is a part of me that get soothed by your videos. Thank you. And even though I may never get to the Philippines, it's like I experience a flavor of life there from your vlogs. Thank you for all that you do. It has wonderful value and is a worthwhile gift to all of us in viewerland.

Hey Captain Jason, how's that process going for you? Are you trying to go to the Philippines first? My Filipina GF wanted me to go there first, but it's very difficult right now, so we are trying to get her a visa to come stay with me. We intend to marry once she is here and then extend her stay and eventually citizenship. Under normal circumstances, we both would've preferred I go there first. I have been introduced to her friends and family and she has to mine as well over video call. But since the world went crazy from the crisis, we decided it's better to have her come here. Wishing you luck in your journey to be with your special someone!

@@FitGuyAZ577 She is in Macau SAR working right now. They are on total lock down. The closest consulate to her is Hong Kong. She can leave and go there but couldn't return to Macau. So we are bound up right now. The best I can understand from the Filipino Consulate website, only nationals and their spouses are allowed to enter the Philippines. So I can't even meet her there. Again she would have to quit her job and then be out of work while we went through the visa process. So right now we are waiting and hoping. Good luck to you as well. I am older and have seen all the changes. It starts from childhood in the schools here in the USA the kids are brainwashed. Our educational system use to be in the top 5 throughout the world now it is around 500. It gets me very upset to see parents allow this to happen to their children but most are sucked right in the nonsense with the kids now. Soros is behind what is happening in the USA we are turning into a socialist society and they are trying to eliminate middle-class people, either you are rich or poor. The people with the money control the poor. I get really mad that people are so stupid to allow this to happen to them, all our rights that we older people fought in the service for are being taken away! The party in control now is destroying this country. Our moronic president is doing everything he can to destroy the country. I am getting out of here as soon as I can. It just makes me sick to see all the people fighting each other instead of fighting to make this country a better place for all the people here. They have achieved in separating races instead of bringing all of us together as one! The USA is no longer a great country to live in. I was born and raised in Los Angeles California and lived here all my life, and that is for a few centuries! The good ol days are long gone! Time for me to retire on a nice tropical island with happy people who smile all the time where I don't have to see or hear about this place anymore! God bless America, they need it, BADLY!

Talking about the Germans; my father served in WWII. He started fighting in Northern Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He had four battle stars. He did participate in the liberation of the Dachau Jewish concentration camp. My father died in 1992 just before his 72nd birthday. He told me stories of that liberation, and how after what went down there, his whole company was sent home and they labeled the reason "Battle Fatigue". There were things they saw, and the anger they felt, and things they let happen that led to that. Fast forward to 1998 and I was doing some training in Munich Germany, teaching them on various software packages that our company created and they were part of the company too. So I was there for two weeks, and the first Friday before the weekend, the people in the class asked me what I was going to do for the weekend? I told them that I wanted to visit Dachau concentration camp. They were very uneasy about me saying that, so I expanded to say that My father had died six years prior, and he was one of those that liberated that camp, and I just wanted to walk in the footsteps my father had to help remember all he had done. Once I was able to explain that, the mood was much lighter. There is a lot of shame still about what happened long ago there, just like slavery in the US. We can just hope to learn from our past.

This is probably the most important video you have done to date and I have watched all of them at least once. When you said that we need to treat each other as individuals and not as part of a particular group, that is the way to solve the problems of division in my country. The media and politicians and tech companies want to divide us by putting us into groups fomenting hatred towards one another, but you are right. We need to get back to treating one another as individuals, without regard to race, or religion or political leanings. It breaks my heart seeing what's going on here. Pea, I hope you get your ultimate dream come true. The organizations that profit from the turmoil created when groups battle each other is not only toxic for the social environment but also very taxing on the government's ability to actually make changes in the right direction for the betterment of their citizens. Being too busy dealing with people that can't leave the past where it is, the governments can't make the future better for their citizens coming up with new needs and desires. There is a saying " Those that ignore the past are doomed to repeat it " but what they don't tell you is " Those that dwell on the past are doomed to force it to happen again"

Easy for you to say. Try asking that of a Holocaust survivor (when it comes to nazis) or their descendants. My grandparents lived through both world wars in Europe and it’s difficult for them to “forget and forgive” after all of the horrors they witnessed first hand. While I do agree with you in part because the people alive now in Japan or Germany are not the same people that perpetrated the evils done in the past. I simply mean that you should be careful not to sound flippant or callous when telling others to let go of their pain and mistrust. Don’t forget that you aren’t part of the group that suffered such horrific abuse. Tread lightly and speak softly. Cheers

You make good videos with sensible down to Earth information and that’s why I’ve subscribed. As a man who has a Filipina lady and who is planning to settle later in the Philippines I am also aware of many pitfalls having been there several times and seeing it for myself. However the people in general are some of the warmest souls I’ve ever seen, even though they haven’t got much, they are still happy. We pray the Covid situation eases for all of us soon and travel restrictions ease as here in China the same with borders still restricted, so meanwhile sending good wishes to you from Zhuhai, China where I’m teaching right now but originally from U.K.. Looking forwards to more videos from you. Your "polish" is a great thing, it means you probably shot that segment over and over until you were satisfied with it. And you probably spent hours piecing it all together. Then the multiple reviews to make sure it's ready to go. I get it! And I thank you for the production you put into your videos. It inspires me to keep learning the "how to's" on making videos. Take it as a compliment when they say this stuff, it just means that your videos are so good they rival commercial production teams. 😀

Philippines have a whole lot of Baklas (gay guys) and not so many tom boys (gay girls.) The tom boys are very quiet and keep to themselves. The Baklas are a bit more showy. However, unlike in the west, there is no strong movement to acknowledge them. They just are and everyone there doesn't care. Baklas are Baklas - and everyone accepts them. I compare it to the term "Vegan' here. If someone is a vegetarian here they need to tell you about it every day - stick it down your nose. Baklas are much more showy than any LGBT or what have you here. However, there is not that 'stick it in your nose' mentality. IE, less hang ups about sexuality. Do some people make fun of the Baklas? Absolutely, and the Baklas love it.
