As sad as it is with Kurt and Layne being gone, the fact that we are STILL talking about them and listening to their music shows the impact they had on people's lives. And, I think that's pretty neat.
@stitchgrimly61673 жыл бұрын
Just the fact he started On a Plain with a #4 followed by all major 3rds makes him one for the ages. Don't get me started on Lithium. I'll just say, mixolydian #4, or lydian dominant or whatever you wanna call it, is the secret scale - 1 2 3 #4 5 6 b7. This was Kurt's magic wand. Of course the 3rd can be flat too (lydian diminished), and avoided altogether on guitar preferably. He loved chromatic melodies and sharp 4ths, and was able to make them super melodic. The melodies were usually simple (except Lithium or SLTS or Drain You et al) and the chords were simple, but they were like two different songs that happened to harmonise perfectly in unexpectedly brilliant ways that no one before him or since has or would have ever thought of. There is never a second wasted in his harmonic structuring, but he was able to make the constituent parts seem extremely rudimentary. The chords and melody for On A Plain *should* be two completely different songs. I'm keeping with that as an example but there are a bunch of others. Plus Krist's bass playing is up there with the most underrated of all time. Incredible tone and sense of counterpoint.

Would like to know what he was like after the overdose. Somebody, I think Krist, said he didn't seem "all there" cognitively which makes sense as he had to be revived from the brink of death. I think blood was coming from his nose and he wasn't breathing at all. I wonder whether he would've ended it if he hadn't tried substituting benzos for heroin in that last year. Everyone said they made him "manic, paranoid & crazy" in a way the dope never did. Several others have killed themselves on benzos including Chris Cornell & Sparklehorse singer Marc Linkous. They definitely make depression worse for many people. I feel like he would've lasted longer on opiate maintenance rather than being pressured to get clean & perform. Total sobriety doesn't always work for everyone.

7:17 kinda Ironic when Kurt went to Rehab for the last time he was given room "206" and every time he stayed at the Marco Polo Hotel in Seattle, under the name Simone Ritchie (Sid Vicious real name) or Bill Bailey (Axel Rose's real name) Kurt would always stay in room 206 cause it was all the way in the back and he could just hide out and do heroin and drink coca cola. (It's just Ironic his hotel of choice he chose 206 and when he went to rehab he was given the room 206), and it's even crazier to think Kurt's been Dead as long as He lived ... 27 Years.

Kurt is 8 years younger than me and Courtney is 4 years younger than me I never really discovered anything about Nirvana or Kurt or Courtney until after he was dead because during his famous stardom Rockstar days I was just a single mom working and I heard his stuff on the radio and thought well that's pretty neat but I didn't go to rock concerts or any of that stuff you know so I discovered it on KZbin and started watching all the videos and then I started calling Kurt and Courtney - kurtney and Court. You can't force someone to get clean if they don't want it for themselves. I understand that friends and families want the best for their loved ones. It's great to talk to the person who is using and let them know you want them to get better and you're there for that person. But to gang up and give ultimatums probably isn't the best idea. If he wanted to get clean he would have chosen to do so. Plus, it's not like he was destitute. He had money and a place to live. He wasn't stealing. Not that it makes it okay. But...I don't know, it's just so sad, so tragic. Everything that happened with him. RIP Kurt

So much speculation! I have never heard an eye witness come forward and say they saw Kurt climb the wall to "escape". Also the actions claimed in the first part of the video I would also call into question considering it seems strange behaviour for someone that many eyewitness and his own lawyer claimed wanted to divorce.

Artists are worth BILLIONS more dead than alive. Billions. It's in contracts. It's been kept on the DL, but C fought for rights to his music. Half of Kurt's money was hers anyway due to 'common law' in CA. But she wanted the money due Krist and Dave. When it became clear that Kurt didn't kill himself, C hired a detective to help find 'who killed Kurt'. The detective figured out C had him killed and Dylan helped. He fired her. There's more than one doc about it. Tapes of phone calls with her. This is not a conspiracy theory. Kurt was killed. C is a murdering B. Hole is a perfect name for her band. That's what she is. A hole. Why was he not found for 3 days? A guy installing security lights found him. C had Kurt tracked down 24/7. Kurt was in his own home, yet missing? That's crazy.

I think your right about alot but Dylan. He was dependent on Kurt and really was his best friend. I don't think he would have ever done anything to Kurt or sided with C. C knew all the low life's in Seattle & LA so it was probably some random unknown person, but definitely not Dylan.
