Graviteam Tactics: Mius-Front - tactical battalion level combat simulation. It is a sequel to Graviteam Tactics: Operation Star and Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.
Game is comprised of two modes:
Operational - turn-based mode where you can shift and concentrate forces in the chosen directions, resupply and replace units, repair and refuel vehicles.
Tactical - real-time mode where you are conducting fire combat with the enemy, capturing territory, destroying vehicles and the enemy manpower.
Four large-scale operations for the Red Army and Wehrmacht with realistic organizational structure. The campaign features more than 100 detailed vehicles produced in USSR, Germany, US and UK. Over 140 sq. km of realistic landscapes were reconstructed from topographical maps and photo and video materials.
New enhanced UI: streamlined interface of various panels, radial orders menu and other enhancements.
Interface appearance and customization: three variants of appearance are included, customizable unit markers (Red Army, Wehrmacht, NATO).
High replayability and advanced AI, which selects the best strategy based on behavior, not a predetermined script.
Advanced management of forces in the operational phase: reinforcement strategies and management of reserves.
Statistics keeping: performance of each unit is recorded (kills, losses, awards, etc.). After each battle, damages and condition of forces and vehicles are shown in the after battle statistics.
Battlefield simulation: realistic vision devices, smoke screens and flares, creation of trenches, explosion craters. Remnants of previous battles remain on the battlefield until the end of operation.
Realistic soldier behavior: each soldier has several essential parameters, such as experience level, stamina and morale, which influence their behavior and effectiveness.
Detailed weapon modeling and realistic ballistics: bullets and projectiles follow ballistic trajectories, taking wind, temperature and other parameters into account.
Advanced armor penetration: modeling based on ballistic histograms without simplifications of probabilistic methods, generation of secondary fragmentation fields takes into account many parameters, such as the change of the field shape in space, fragments and armor characteristics, armor thickness and damage conditions.
Complex vehicle damage system: engine, suspension, sights, weapons and targeting mechanisms can be damaged separately, affecting the combat capabilities.
Destructible environment: almost everything can be blown up and destroyed, from landscape surface and buildings to vehicles and enemy defensive installations.
Advanced control of the off-map artillery, featuring various fuse settings and shell types.
Formation and movement modes: lines and columns, movement by road and covertly, infantry following behind tanks, setting a delay, fire sectors, etc.
Automatic smoke screen laying: units set up smoke screens when enemy is spotted.
Dynamic change of the time of day, light sources and weather effects, influence the course of battle, visibility and area passability.
Also, you can view detailed info on each unit in the interactive encyclopedia. Interactive tutorial explaining most aspects of the game is included.

Thank you! I am the same way. I will watch videos for a game I may not even play. Sometime games can be overwhelming to learn or you just may not have time. It may be something you are interested in but don't really enjoy playing it.

You can pick up any of the Graviteam games or tank warfare and his tips and advice will still be accurate because they all get updated together. The equipment and locations change but the game mechanics stay consistant

My problem is when im playing on maps like black snow, my spotter cant see shit, and my arty is useless the whole game. Like its all woods and flat land. And then when i move my units i lose link, and i cant ask for a fire mission or keep up the moral. Also sometimes my phone link guys dont prioritise setting up links between the spotter and the guns, and instead decide to run off miles away to establish links with units that does not need any link cuz they are moving around to often. Like how do i tell them to establish links for the guns?

The link system is automatic and the AI should prioritize their squads first; however, once a link is established phone squads will attempt to link up other squads. The link squads can be stopped by turning off AI. I typically don't move Artillery units once they are placed because they drop ammo when moved.

So justto be clear, when you're linking up a wire link all you have to really do is position your platoons and then the radio operators will carry out the task on their own? I understand that the game doesn't really encourage micro-managing but I'm often left confused with what I need to tell them to do and what I don't need to tell them. Thanks for the vid

Correct. The radio operators only purpose is to lay wire. You just need to make sure AI control is turned on for that specific unit. In the beginning of this video. I dismounted the commanded and turned on AI control. I am not sure why AI control is turned off for that particular unit. Just make sure your Mortar Platoon commander can seen your Observe fire location. Once the Wire link is all established he will relay coordinates to your mortars who will execute the tasking. The system seems very complicated but it really isn't. I spent sometime in the battle editor working with it.

The 2D tactical map? I have had a few requests for that. I looked it over a bunch. I discovered direct and indirect control. I will mess with it some more. I would like to create a video but I need to review it.

If Binder platoon had a wirelink setup would it speed up the observe firemarker percentage that Schriter platoon placed? (Squads communication over radio to get better "lock on" target?) Hope that makes sense.

No. I did a bunch of testing and only the commander of the Artillery platoon can spot. The wire link to the infantry just ensures that moral is high and that they don't surrender.

There is a somewhat related cool feature that’s not obvious - Binder won’t help with user-initiated fire at the ground order. But target info can travel up and down command chain. So if Schriter could not observe, he’d eventually get the target data passed from Binder to the Bn commander, then from Bn commander to him, all with zero player involvement. Caveat - I could not make it work in battle editor, but it definitely worked in a campaign battle.

@@TacticsWithJoe if you want maximum control over your artillery guns for example you'll have to configure them as this: Artillery guns: fire at will OFF, AI fire ON Commander/spotter: fire at will OFF, AI fire OFF This way the guns will only open fire at ground targets YOU have designated via the commander/spotter using the ground fire designation. If you let the commander/spotter fire at will ON he will designate enemy units he can spot, as targets to the guns on his own. If you also turn AI fire ON for the commander/spotter he'll be able to receive target suggestions from other units on the battlefield and relay this information to the battery allowing other units such as even basic infantry to call in artillery support as long as there's a line of communication. Letting the guns have fire at will ON will allow them to shoot at targets they can directly see on their own.

wait.... which ones is the observer, and which one is the wirelink team? how can you tell? edit: I dont mean on the terrain, you can tell by dude having big wire on his back. I mean on the bottom menu. 1st guy is commander (the flag), is he the observer? Are the other flags wire guys? Or observers also?

The observer is the commander all the way to the left.

@@uncletimo6059 You have lots of commanders. This video has 3 platoons. A main Commander platoon (ignore). infantry platoon (ignore). firing platoon. This platoon has 5 commandersish. The commander of the entire mortar team is spotting. Don't get lost in the sauce. The mortar platoon has 5 commandersish. The main platoon commander. (located left) He spots and 1 for wire link 3 for mortars and AT. Don't focus on wire link. That process completes itself. 3:09 I have the mortar platoon selected. The commander that spots is the box all the way to the left in that platoon. The main commander of every platoon is always the furthest left.

this game is defeating me..... I consider myself somewhat intelligent, can play War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition..... Played war and strategy games since sinclair spectrum games like Desert Rats.... and this game is making me feel like a special ed kid when I do something extremely simple, like "go there and setup defense....NO, do not turn your back towards the enemy WTF.....what are you doing, tank?!?! WTF is happening!".

@@TacticsWithJoe it is NOT challenging. it is inscrutable, obtuse for no reason. I want to play, not combat the AI to do an artillery mission

@@uncletimo6059 ☠ I understand your frustrations! The Mortar and Artillery system could be overhauled but they want it to be LOS and not micro point and click.

@@TacticsWithJoe Andrei is a.... special person. When he gets, every few days, a message on steam "this is obstuse", "how does it work", "Wth?" and similar, he replies with "there is tutorial in game!" and something close to "you are stupid". LOL 😆

@@uncletimo6059 I don't go into the forums. If I do I just search a keyword for something I am looking for. Personally, I feel the manual needs to be rewritten but I feel that way about every war game. Tutorials are useful but developers just need to hire a youtuber to create a tutorial.
