I bought this bike 2 years ago after not riding for 40 years. I am now retired living with twisty hilly roads at my door step and this bike is a blast. I was able to pick up riding again with no issues and I attribute that to the bike. Easy to ride and just fun!

In the right hands, this Tiger 660 is a real weapon. I've had mine for over a year. I've installed the Zard full exhaust system on mine, remapped the ecu, and dyno'd it. These mods really wake up that beautiful triple engine, making it howl and rip through country roads. It's feels faster than 80hp, feels more like 90-95. With my bike weighing about 200kg wet, it's agile enough to give faster bikes a real run for their money. I've taken my bike on track and it's very capable. The Street Triple DNA shines right through if you're a competent rider. And then there's the fact that this bike is also a very competent tourer and commuter. I have the fog lights, full luggage and Puig sports screen and it's really nice to cover long differences on, considering it's not a large bike. I considered maybe getting a Tracer 9 (or even an MT-09) but I don't think I'd actually enjoy them as much, especially on British roads. The Tiger 660 feels interesting every time I take it out. The handling is telepathic and it can tour, and there is just something special about riding a smaller displacement, more compact bike to red-line that isn't a parallel/V twin. That triple makes it all worth it, and that Zard exhaust brings this engine to life. The stock exhaust doesn't do the bike justice. I'm don't think I'll need to "upgrade" for a long time as this bike should keep me interested for years to come, but let's see.

Hey Sergey, thanks for all your videos about the Tiger 660! I ended up buying a blue Tiger 660 as my first motorcycle, in part after seeing a lot of your videos on it, and so far (only 600kms done) I am really enjoying it. It is quite easy to handle as a new rider (maybe a bit tall compared to some naked bikes that are used in the courses) and a lot of fun so far. Having the break-in period is kind of annoying (max speed of 74km/h for the first 160km), but as a new rider, it also gives ample opportunity to familiarize yourself with the bike and riding in general, so it's not too bad. Looking forward to the next season, where I plan to take it out on some bigger tours. Cheers!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I am happy that I can help somehow. The first 1000km (600 miles) is an excellent opportunity to get to know the bike. Don’t be tricked by its friendliness. It is a capable machine, and I would advise spending some time learning its potential ;) You will have great fun riding and travelling on this bike. Stick with the channel; there will be interesting information for travellers soon :) Ride safe!

My main concern about it is pillion comfort, do you used to ride it with pillion? You said about 500km trips being pretty doable, how about the passenger on those 500km trips? Today I do trips this long in a Speed Twin 1200 with luggage and passenger, and despite the seat is actually good, space and tha bike handling in those scenarios are not good, wich makes those trips a bit harsh.

I honestly don't think this bike is suitable for traveling with a pillion. It's not that it's uncomfortable; rather, there's limited space available. It may work for shorter individuals, but average-height people will likely struggle with it. Additionally, I don't find the shape of the seat at the back to be particularly spacious. You can certainly cover some distance on this bike without any issues.

Thanks for the review. Actually I rode a small cb125r und fell in love with the trident 660. But I also install cases on my 125er and see myself doing it on the trident to. Maybe the tiger sport 660 is the more clever choice. Same agility, with a lot extra features. I had to try it :)
@SergeyVikultsev

Try it :) I think that Tiger is better choice compared to Trident as it has more applications. Price difference is not that big, but you can use this bike for almost anything.

Hi! No, I didn't do one yet. I am waiting for information from my dealer. The bike still performs perfectly, by the way.

Did you suffer with the engine MAP hose issue? have you performed its recall? If yes, have you felt any difference in riding after it? Can you elaborate some further?

Hey, I did not, but I am waiting for my dealer to process this recall. So far zero issues over a year of ownership.

Hello, I don't know if you have tried the tracer 7 and the versys 650, which one would you choose, the 660, versys or the tarcer 7?
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Жыл бұрын
Honestly, it all comes down to what you want from the bike. Is design important to you? Is budget a question for you? Etc. Japanese bikes are easy for “no headache” use, and they are also better in the initial package ( versys has CC and an adjustable fork, and Yamaha has an adjustable fork). But Triumph has more character and more modern (in my opinion). In terms of handling, I’d choose between Tracer or Tiger. I do not have much experience with Kawasaki in general.

Great video. Im going to sell my GSXS 750 and want to buy a sport tourer. My options are (cheapest to expensier): Versys 650, Tiger sport 660 and Tracer 9 GT. Im 5.10" and will use the bike to commute to work and travel on weekends with my wife. Which one would you recommend based on your experience?
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Жыл бұрын
For me, the Tracer is no brainer. But it requires 50% more budget. All these bikes are good for 5.10”. The tracer can be a bit large. Kawasaki will have all you need (fork adjustment, CC, comfort). Tiger will have the same character and can be loaded with extras for much less, plus premium name (if that matters).

How does the bike ride with a pillion
@SergeyVikultsev
@SergeyVikultsev Жыл бұрын
That is super personal. It is possible for shorter people, but being realistic, I don’t feel it will be comfortable on long trips. For one rider, it's an excellent touring bike with everything you need on tour. Every time I ride it, I feel like that is a bit smaller version of Tracer 9GT.
@jamesgoodwin5050

It is definitely personal preference but to me the setup is a little tight for long pillion rides.

Hi i had a Tiger 660 for 9 month and 8000 km i agree with you it is a fun bike but not on German autobahn it is to small for longer trips i traded with a Yamaha Tracer 9 and it is much more fun to ride than the Tiger

Yeah, this Tiger was never meant to be an autobahn machine. But it is very capable in town and on twisties. I like Tracer a lot as well.
