It's a hooter, but I'd assume 1218's is still on 1218, as she's being kept in very good, near-operable condition. N&W made hundreds of the same whistle for all of their articulated engines, as did C&O and B&O on many of theirs.

I was actually told by a person named Matts Mocs on Facebook Messenger that a photo of C&O 1309 being painted in the WM fireball scheme was leaked online and the donors plus the B&O Railroad Museum was not happy and the state of Maryland ordered WMSR to remove the WM fireball colors (and threatened legal action if they did not comply within 36 hours from when the cease and desist letter was sent)
@CaptainCrutch3 жыл бұрын
@@Benthetrainkid well that’s about the dumbest rumor about this engine I’ve heard in a while. Especially considering she’s in WM fireball again… and in case you couldn’t tell, in this video the paint wasn’t finished, the C&O numbers and lettering are temporary decals. Anyone who believes that anyone even could be sent a C&D over a paint scheme for a railroad that no longer exists has an incredibly low understanding of how the law works. @suegeorge86944 жыл бұрын
She wasn't being towed. This was the first time 1309 moved under her own power in many decades. The diesel was hooked up for 2 reasons. 1. In case 1309 broke down, it could be towed back to the rail yard. 2. They used the dynamic breaking on the diesel to give 1309 something to pull. The next day, the rest runs were done again but without the diesel.
