The thing to remember about Zeno Zoldyck is that as an assassin, he is trained to always overestimate his opponent and that a 50-50 battle is loosing odds. So it's entirely possible he could actually wipe the floor with Chrollo or be equal to Netero and just overstates their power because it's a fight he doesn't see as a sure thing.

THIS!! Everyone in HxH fandom should know this. So many of them underestimate Zeno when he says it's not certain who wins if Chrollo fights him with killing intent. From the things that have been shown, I believe the meaning of Zeno's words was because he doesn't know what Chrollo's abilities are yet, so he's not sure if he wins, but that doesn't mean he will lose, it's just that he doesn't know who will win. I think Zeno will definitely beat Chrollo if he knows how Chrollo's nen ability works

The only reason people think he’s stronger than Silva (who is the head of the family currently, which leads me to believe he is the currently strongest Zoldyck) is because we’ve seen him do more stuff/he has more screen time and backstory with strong characters like Netero.

you know what's scary about Bisky? I've found myself thinking about her broken nen ability several times, and thinking, how ridiculously strong she would be if, she trained and spent a lot of time training hard like 10, 20 or 30 years, and having the support of her nen ability that multiplies the effectiveness of training several times? Compressing 1 year of training into a month seems absurdly strong, imagine how powerful Netero would have been if throughout his entire life, especially in the period from his youth to his peak, he had the backing and support of a Nen user with a skill focused on growth like Bisky? imagine, a Netero who trained 5, 10 times more... that for others too, like Hisoka, Chrollo, Illumi and so on. So for me Bisky is a mystery, depending on how much effort and time the author says she spent training and using her nen ability, she can have power from a strong nen user to absurd values ​​like being much stronger than netero at his peak, after all, if for example the author says in the future that she trained for 30, 40 years, and having 5 to 10 times more efficiency than the others, thanks to her super fast recovery and being able to train almost without stopping, she would have to have a horrible talent to not be a complete monster doing extreme training that would exhaust one's body in 1~3 hours, recover in 30 minutes instead of days or dozens of hours like everyone else and repeat again and again for decades.

Maybe but I think there has to be a technical peak to a person's ability even with quick recovery. Like Gon's nen vow made him as strong as his absolute peak, so perhaps Bisky could get him there sooner than natural training assuming his body could be fully grown but he'd never go beyond it. So something close to Meruem level but never stomping Meruem easily. Her ability is also not good for fighting and she isn't a pure enhancer, which leaves her with a serious downside for fighting ability even with her strength. She definitely seems more like an excellent training instructor to train talented young fighters to their peak.

I agree and would even add that she maintain that kid form as a condition to gain even more power like "I will be vulnerable most of the time and force my self to be in that state 24hours but when I transform back I will be stronger" Cause like it or not she is using nen 24/7 to keep her body like that 24/7 it sounds like someone flexing their muscles 24/7 but with nen, I think she is a monster that was not presented yet

@@ZanderX10 Remember how strong Netero’s Hatsu was? And that was using the categories that he was by far the weakest in. So, even with her not being a pure engender type, she’d be ungodly powerful. Also, about her Nen not being the best for fighting. I’d argue it’s actually one of the best. Sure, it may not be some sort of attack, but training in this series is the method to get stronger, and that’s specifically what she does. I do agree with you though, on there may be some sort of cap on how strong a character can get. Mainly due to Gon’s transformation, and when Killua & Gon began learning about Nen, and lastly due to Netero. Having trained for as long as he had, and feeling as if he got to a point that he wouldn’t improve anymore. ( Unless I misunderstood the wording)

all bisly's's ability would ha e done for netero is make him reacg his peak younger. it is well known that netero got as atrong as his potential took him. and after that is when he stopped histraining and began meditating. also i highly doubt bisky is as skilled or strong as netero. she might be top 20 though.

just no. how did bisky get her strong body? ah, through training. and I would guess just as you described it?!?! at netero his backstoy it was mentioned that he has reached the maximum of physical and mental strength. so he could only become stronger if he created certain prerequisites for his nen like kurapika. That's where prayer came into play and has exceeded the limits of what is possible. you can write such theories in dragon ball z, but please do not write such bullshit in hunterxhunter. this is an insult to togashi's combat system.

I think it’s likely Pariston had a less combative Nen ability- him being very skilled but not classically combatively powerful would add to why Netero couldn’t stand him.

I agree, it's 100% something non-aggressive, but extremely annoying, that he uses like a master to make him untouchable. I can't think of anything specific, but something like Lemillion's power (phasing through everything) from My Hero Academia. Since it'd annoy Netero that he can't punch him. There's probably cooler ideas, but my mind is blank.

Wasn't Netero's meditation specifically to charge up the Zero Hand and not necessarily preparation for the entire fight against Meruem? Remember the Zero Hand was a las resort as far as his nen and life force was concerned. And the Rose was his absolute last LAST resort.

I honestly think that Ging is considered one of the best Nen users by Netero based mostly on his ability to replicate abilities in a more advanced way, while we're still in the dark about what his category and ability is, we know that he can almost completely understand an ability if he gets hit by it. Based on this, if he's able to go outside his Nen category to use those abilities and STILL make them more powerful, Ging probably would cause the same problem Youpi did for Knuckle based on sheer quantity.

I feel like Ging (or at least his technique) has to be a specialist because it's similar to other ability stealing techniques like Skill Hunter and that one Kakin Prince's ability where he gets the ability of his subordinates. Granted, what I said is pure speculation and we all know Togashi works in mysterious ways, so who knows really.

Kite was basically the only one who was unaware that his crazy slots ability actually gave him what he wanted/needed, and Ging was the one who helped him develop it. He may be a mental enhancer like Komugi for all we know, and he specializes in Nen Knowledge.

Komugis Nen Ability was a Question for a long time and the main-reason to doubt it's Enhancement was that 'enhacning somethig' doesnt really make sense for Intellect if you remember what Intellect is. But nah, it's Enhancement, so i gues one can just 'Enhance Concepts'. Man, wonder if Togashi plans to ever tell us Basics like WHAT can be enhanced

The Biscuit is better nen-user than Chrolo: Technically correct. Chrolo is an exceptional nen-master, but his true power comes from utility. He himself may not be insanely powerful as a raw nen user, but has the flexibility of combining other nen-users power. He is like Rockman combined with 4d-chess, where he can collect nen-abilities and elevate them into a more powerful, unnatural combination. As we seen it in Heavens Arena where he can wombo-combo different abilities. Majority of nen abilities can be hard coutnered. Its the typical shounen trope where the enemy is powerful, until you find the Achiles-weakspot, so most fights go on, until you figure out the hard-counter of your enemy. But when it comes to Chrolo, its like: "Oh... ok... so you found out that I am stealing abilities. Good for you. Now what? All you can do is to prevent me to getting an ability, not using it, or now you can have fun "unlocking" this ability now... " And Kurapika is heading to this direction too with his skill-stealing

I think Greed Island Chrollo is still a joke compared to Chrollo during the Heaven's Arena fight. Bookmark etc make him so fucking much stronger in nen combat it's not even remotely funny.

I think just by looking at the relative physical condition of the Netero trio you can tell their level of nen mastery. Netero looks decades younger than he really is. Zygg's shriveled in his old age but still active. And Linne clearly fared the worst.

Tbf though, pitous aura capacity is much larger than netero's. Pitou's been able to use en covering a whole large area for days, and tnetero's slap dealt almost no damage. I think if they were to fight, netero would just keep slapping pitou with almost no diff, until he runs out of gas, and if pitou can tank that much damage until netero runs out dry, which im guessing pitou can, then netero would lose.

The Zeno ,Zigg/Maha, and Silva debate is definitely the hardest to me. I feel in a fight Silva is the strongest Zoldyck to me as of now. I feel Zeno definitely has the best control of his nen though. If the hype behind Zigg is real then he could also be in the same situation as Zeno. Hell we know he's still active somewhat since the manga showed him with Kalluto I think. But going back to Silva I would put him in the top 5 since I see him fairing better in a fight against Netero.

I agree. I'll go one step further and say that Silva is more dangerous because of the fact that I think no one outside of Zeno, Zigg and Maha knows his true abilities. He goes out to kill and then heads back home. He's a true assassin. Whereas Zeno, Zigg, Maha, Killua, Illumi, Kalluto all have outside connections via the Hunter Association and the Spiders so someone has a scope of their abilities. He's the true dark horse of that house.

i think the current leader of the zoldyck is always the strongest . and the leader switches when there is someone in the family that surpasses him. It would make sense that it would be most a hiearchy of power and ability to kill stronger targets. That is also supported by how hard they are trying to groom killua to become the next head despite his huge mental flaws , with him being the most talented zoldyck in history and all.

What's amazing about Bisky is that she isn't even specialized in fighting, assassination, etc. She is a Stone Hunter and all her hatsu are for health, recovery and beauty. Piano Massage and Magic Spa are probably Transmutation or Manipulation.... yet they are diametrical (with some Enhancement, Emission and Conjuration thrown in). Biscuit is supposed to be a transmuter, but her abilities are as if she is a Specialist. For her to be that powerful, even with the handicap of using Nen outside of her natural affinity.... easily top-5 Nen user.

Does anyone else think that Netero made a Nen contract before fighting Meruem? Something akin to what Gon did against Pitou, which would be a really cool narrative parallel. With Netero's experience, it stands to reason that he knew he couldn't win this fight. Knowing he would die, he decides to juice himself up as hard as he possibly can to best enjoy his final moments. After all, his entire life has been spent trying to find a worthy adversary. He is absolutely the type to walk into certain death if it means enjoying the greatest battle history has ever seen (in his perspective). I imagine his contract would sound something like this: after a contract-boosted aura production period (his scary meditation), Netero would never be able to produce Aura ever again. Whatever he makes is all he's got left. This is evidenced by his wretched, depleted appearance at the end of his fight. Given how old as Netero is, I wager that his life and health are directly sustained by his aura, so without it, he'd surely just wither and die. And his "meditation" was likely an extremely long, sustained Ren, giving him as much aura as he could muster to fight Meruem. Killua even freaked out at it when he wandered too close, reacting pretty similarly to when he unconsciously experienced malicious Ren before. Maybe y'all have heard this theory before, but I really like it. It makes his conversation with Knov and Morrel a little more genuine. They both have excellent tactical acumen, and Netero may have considered the two of them working together as a decent fight. At least in that moment, before he charged up his laser for however long that was.

I'm surprised that you're surprised by Bisky being a top 5 Nen User in HXH. I always see her as that due to the fact that she's constantly using Zetsu to contain her massive aura, she also taught Gon about this principle and what will happen if you do the exact opposite with a heavy sacrifice.

I think the top 5 nen users are actually as follows (and in no particular order) Ging- obviously the story just confirms him Botobai- considered closest to Netero and regardless of whatever that means since Netero respects strength more than everything that implies he's close to him because he's strong Beyond- he's Netero's son so his placement is kinda obvious Zigg- he's almost certainly stronger than Zeno since Zeno himself literally says he's nowhere near Netero's level but stated that it was impressive that Netero fought Zigg and lived implying that Zigg at least was considered to be near his level when they fought if it was surprising that Netero could just survive against him IPA Director- the IPA director is massively underrated and not really talked about despite being the only other person besides Netero and Beyond (2 other top 5 nen users) to actually be able to survive the dc unscathed. Therefore I personally think he must be extremely powerful to have been able to pull off a feat that only Netero and Beyond can pull off and just like Netero and Zigg old age shouldn't really mean anything in terms of power drop off since clearly being old didn't really limit Netero in power at all. The theory that maybe Don Freecss is in his top 5 is interesting but it's unclear if Netero could have found him especially if he never went to the west side of the continent. Also it might somewhat take away from Gings mission to find Don if Netero already did but it's still possible. Don might be a replacement for the IPA director in the top 5 but imo that's really contingent on whether or not Netero has ever met him before as I doubt he'd just give him that title without ever meeting.

Imo, the reason Chrollo wouldn't make it to the top five is that he relies too much on the abilities he steals, sure, he does it wonderfully, but that would make him "crafty" and not "mighty" and i would guess Netero ranks by the 2nd criteria

I think that any serious fight again Chrollo will not demonstrate power so much as combat experience, versatility, and endurance. Zeno and Silva both knew that Chrollo was a specialist that can steal and use stolen Nen abilities. This means that they have to make sure their own abilities are not stolen and that they cannot prepare at all for any of the possible abilities he may have. This requires a long slow battle because the only way to gain the experience and knowledge necessary to safely win is within that battle itself. If he had just come in with a nuke of an ability and Chrollo had some sort of reflect all damage skill then Zeno would have instantly killed himself and Zeno knew this.

For me I would say Ging, Botobai, Beyond Netero, and the other 2 unkown, I would say that biske is among the strongest of all but I don't think she is among the top 5. Kuroro and Hisoka are definately not one of them, I doubt that netero would let them just pass and not even test or talk more with them if he felt somehting. I belive that the other 2 are still to appear and we don't know them yet

One of the reasons I love Hunter Hunter is because all it takes is one mistake even if your stronger and how abilities can make or break situations Meruem could have been delt with in a better fashion if Pariston choose to give them the resources I do love good what ifs especially when the chosen path is a great one

This is pretty much a perfect list IMO. Based on the evidence we have, I can't argue anything else. However if we're open to speculation, I'd nominate Ging's friends for the list, specifically the ones that he made Greed Island with (nobody in particular, just saying one or more of his friends could fall within the top 5). All of the cards in the game are clearly the result of some form of nen. Some of them have insane abilities, like Angel's Breath, that would indicate an extremely high level of nen mastery. Kinda falls apart if Ging himself made the cards but I don't think that's the case since he asks one of the entry/exit twins to program the card for him.

Hisoka's rating system is a percentage of his power, with him being 100. Illumi was shown as 95 to indicate how close he is. I doubt Chrollo sits below 100.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider the HxH Databook very reliable (there is quite the decent and/or high chance Togashi didn't even make them, stuff can change/creators can change minds, and/or the manga/anima can just show differently). Including what u mentioned that ranked Nen users. Some stuff has just been proven wrong too. Don't get me wrong, they can be fun and cool to use, and I can still like them as a source of info, and use it as well. But I don't consider them all too reliable and/or accurate, and I wouldn't base stuff too heavily on them. Like power-levels/power-scaling. Saying all that; this was still a fun video! Daam, imagine if the freecs family developed a nen ability where each generation of first borns get stronger or even only being allowed one male child. Thats why the freecs family fathers dont raise theirs sons. They are completely capable and they need to be challenged on another level to brint out their potential. It would be even cooler if the ability made them have shorter life spans always triggering a need to go to the dark continent to consume the life extending plant elixir thing. That would be bonkers. Ging is trying to get to the dark continent to survive. And to also save gon and their future kids.

i'm happy that someone agrees with me that Bisky is a beast, they way she talks about Razor was also a big indication for me, she was talking as if she was stronger, and Razor is very strong as well. i'm no sure why Zeno is considered above Silva tho, maybe Netero knows Zeno better, so it could make sense that he would put Zeno. my top5 would replace Silva with Zeno, using the not very convincing argument that if Killua and Gon are pretty much equal, it's likely that Ging and Silva are also pretty much equal. We also know that Silva took down troupe members without suffering permanent injuries, which is a pretty nice achievement.

Excluding Netero himself, there are at least four people he knew well that are among the strongest and proficient nen users. Three (3) Zoldycks and Ging. Among the Zoldycks, Netero knew very well Maha and Zeno. But obviously was aware that the current patriarch of the family is Silva. This implies Silva is currently the strongest Zoldyck, as their business is about power, strength, and skill of nen. We all thought him and Zeno were Transmuters as the 'theory of white/silver haired Zoldycks' but it was recently revealed by Togashi himself that Zeno and Silva are indeed Emitters. I think Silva has trained with Zeno as an emitter while he trained with Maha as an enhancer. Note that, being an emitter, excelling at being an enhancer is very likely. Recall Silva's casual nen punch that demolished Cheetu's head. It created a crater which rivals that of the crater by Uvogin's punch of that earthworm guy of the Shadow Beasts (the former was deeper while the latter had greater radius). Although i think Zeno and Maha are still more proficient in nen than Silva while Zeno being the best tactician. Also their fight with Chrollo, both Zeno and Silva were fighting conservatively as they were supposed to kill as many Spiders as they could. I think they were using only less than 10% (each) as they still have other targets. That's why they had to operate as a tag-team for efficiency purposes. Take note: in the past, Silva killed one of the Spiders and consequently had a 'draw' with Chrollo. From a business perspective, when an opponent requires 10% of their power to kill, it's already considered 'difficult' as they operate with a '100% certainty motto' in their kills.

one thing ive learn about HxH. Raw power from nen user is not everything, the fight from Uvogin vs Kurapika speak of everything. Nen can be so tricky that just a resolve to kill phantom troupe with the condition that if you use your power against someone he isn't can make you die. Skills in Nen would also matter like Chrollo who is not high in raw power, but being incredibly versatile and skilled the way he used it. So far since its just Netero perspective the list makes a lot of sense
