Thank you for acknowledging that. Landing into an airbag as opposed to a ramp is not even on the same page but with different dangers as we see with the broken femur because the bike landed first taking out much of the cushioning effect but landing into a ramp HAS ZERO CUSHIONING EFFECT WHATSOEVER.

Brings a tear to my eye man. Been watching FMX for 20 years and when I saw Travis do the first double back I couldn't believe my eyes, and now here we are at the triple. So happy for these two. Keep pushing the limits fellas. Buying my son his first dirt bike in a couple months. Maybe he'll be up there attempting the next impossible stunt in 20 years. Cheers. 🍻

I explicitly remember them calling Mike Metzger's two consecutive backflips a "double backflip" -- because we were still in an age where we didn't think people would push it much further. The 2000's were peak motorsports. Then the Jake Brown skateboard Big Air incident... Sports in general were at their greatest in the '00's.

I need more freaking like buttons! This gave me that same amount of energy and excitement as travis doing the double backflip for the first time in world history. I can't even begin to fathom how difficult this was. The dude broke his FEMUR on an AIRBAG. Stop and think about that for a second. Literally the hardest bone to break in your body was broken hitting an airbag. I just can't dude.... So much talent and hard work in one place. Just insane....

Watching this contest brought me back to that same moment in LA when Travis was doing the first double flip. So many butterflies and I was just watching behind my computer screen. Ya'll are mental and are the modern day equivalent of super heroes. WE ARE NOT WORTHY 🙌

Man it’s crazy how far this sport has come, but nothing will ever beat the raw and pure adrenaline of Pastranas first double flip. That double flip really turned the page for what was possible in FMX.

A lot of people don’t even know that the nitro athlete manager, Chris Haffey is a legend to another community. I grew up watching Chris Haffey put on a pair of skates and tear up any hand rail, gap, half pipe or skate park placing 1st place in pretty much every pro event there was! He was without a doubt the GOAT aggressive in-line skating! 😮

I didn't even know that this was physically possible, somehow I've never even heard that they were attempting a triple. Whenever you think about Travis Pastrana and the Nitro Circus, they are the ones pushing the limits of whats possible and progressing each and every sport they possibly can. The first back flip by Carey Hart, as cool as it was, he didn't stick it, it was absolutely a stack. Now sure it was much closer to a land then it was to a wheelchair, but a stack none the less. Still better than anything I could do

Round 93..94 mc showed us the nac nac…me and my buddies lived for big jumps and before u knew it fmx was born…terafirma….crusty…hard way…we’d watch em then jump on our 94…5..and 6 cr125s and go find a big jump…to see them boys put in the work and effort makes it what it is…truly inspirational…of course Travis has took fmx to the top and no denying that….

The thing that makes this particularly wild to me is just how short the run-up is to the ramp. Like when Sheehan did his, he’s riding through the woods for what feels like 500m before even seeing the ramp.

Not to take away fro Hart and the 2000 X games, but the First ever backflip on a dirt bike was landed in 1985ish by Jose Yanez. Jose was also the stuntman who executed the backflip for the bmx movie Rad.

Barely comparable but I have looped a hang glider dozens of times which can result in tragedy if done wrong and the glider tumbles. Anyway for me the feeling afterwards is always approximately 10% excitement/joy/satisfaction and 90% relief. I bet that’s the same feeling for these guys too.

They landed into an airbag. Not into a ramp. Everyone is playing this into something unbelievable, extremely talented yes, but it's an airbag. The original one landed into a ramp, no foam pit, no airbag. Real danger.

not that it matters, i broke both my femurs in 2020 in a vehicle accident and the noise was so loud it sounding like a shotgun going off
