I respect the creator's decision to take the original video. However, I'm a bit torn on whether the video "needed" to be taken down at all in the first place. It's clearly a well-meaning video, made by a kid who's just chosen to work through their feelings about 9/11 in a very dumb and awkward way. A kid who wasn't even alive when it happened, and therefore had no real understanding of the real impact that tragedy had. I feel like any reasonable adult would be able to see this, and not get overly offended by it. Then again, perhaps a line was crossed by using real footage of the event. Imo without that part, the video would have just been kind of cringe, but that one particularly tasteless decision pushes it over into borderline offensive territory. Or maybe offensive isn't the right word... disrespectful, I think is more accurate. Obviously not intentionally so, but sometimes intent matters less that the effect. Ultimately, it's the creator's decision whether or not to take it down, and they have chosen to remove the video. I respect that, and I think ultimately it was a good thing to do. I just hope the creator didn't feel too pressured to do so by this video, or feel guilty about making their video in the first place. I don't think they did a "bad" thing, just a very _childish_ thing, and you can't be too mad at a literal child for doing so.

The person who made the original video is my friend so just a reminder to please not send them any hate since as stated they were quite literally a fetus when they made this video and didn’t understand why what they did was wrong. They’re much more mature now, and significantly older, and understand why what they did was insensitive! Sending hate to them when they made this video as a child is just as immature so refrain and be the bigger person! In situations like this, we educate, not Dogpile! My friend is in a lot of distress right now, and in panic mode, essentially, and trying their best to just calm down from all of this explosive (negative) attention that they received in the past few hours, so please just refrain from sending hate, or unnecessary harassment, or bullying and I just ask you to please leave them alone to calm down for a while! They most likely will make a public statement when they are ready and levelheaded and calm. Thank you! Edit: I just watched the entire video, and the only really big opinion that I had about the whole thing is that obviously no harm was intended, but I feel like it would’ve been better If before you release the video you would have reached out to the original creator to tell them to take the video down, so that they wouldn’t receive hate, because as you state in the video, you know that it is a very easy to find video, as well as that they were very young when they made it, so the creator receiving unnecessary hatred for a video they made many many moons ago was unnecessary, and it was brought on by your video, which I know was never your intention, of course, because you say, not to send hate numerous times in the video, but you can’t control your entire audience and what they choose to do. It’s kind of like saying “hey kids don’t try this at home!” and there will definitely be kids that try it at home. TLDR; it would’ve been better to reach out to the original creator in the first place, before releasing the video, and telling them to take the video down before releasing your video, so that they didn’t receive hate in the first place. And situations like this communication is always the best course of action to take before publicizing something, especially if the creator is still a minor! A little heads up would’ve been nice!
