I moved out to the Pittsburgh area from San Diego California a few years ago and your channel has been super helpful in showing me the area. I love history and to be living in an area where the French and Indian wars happened is pretty cool. I visited Fort Duquesne yesterday and it was amazing I could feel the history. Keep up the amazing work cliff thanks so much for showing me a side of Pennsylvania I never knew about.

I miss that part of the state. I used to get down that way about once a month. It's beautiful three seasons of the year, but winter can be a bear if you're driving.

To bad you couldn't spend another 3 hours sharing the beautiful artifacts of this museum. Was really fascinated with the ol gentleman's treasures. Great History!

I walked on a part of Forbes road that was not made into a highway. It was rutted and narrow. It was on private property.

The Fort Bedford Museum does not stand on the site of Fort Bedford. The fort stood where the stone building was shown at the intersection of Pitt and Richard Streets BUT that building was constructed in the 1940's NOT the 1750's.

That was great history Cliff, so nice of Joe to continue to share his knowledge of the area and F & I wars. Cool to learn more of Washington's adventures B 4 the Revolutionary war too. Someone or group put a lot of work into that miniature fort almost like a flyover the old fort today.

John Forbes sent almost the entire period of the expedition named for him at Carlisle because he had dysentery (the flux).

Sorry, Fort Bedford was NEVER called 'Fort Raystown'. Henry Bouquet who led the expedition in 1758 always signed his letters as "Camp near Raystown". The name 'Raystown' referred to the trading post of John Wray. It was located about two miles east of where Fort Bedford would be constructed.

Forbes Road was 'cut' and not 'built' because they 'cut' down the trees and bushes.

The museum is simply incorrect about being on the original site of the fort. AND IT WAS NEVER NAMED FORT RAYSTOWN!
