It certainly is, it’s quirky while looking good and is very distinctive. It’s such a good design for a mainstream sensible car! Ive had 2 of these. One of my favourite cars of all time. The induction roar with a cone filter was crazy and once the VVT kicks in was even better. Made quite a few people jump just with that... Then came the straight though exhaust which really made the car come alive! Along with 15mm spacers and a coilover setup it really was a fun car and not very common either.
@carmanick3 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching and completely agree! Glad you enjoyed yours. I'm not normally so big on modifications, but the induction kit and cat back exhaust on this makes it sound amazing throughout the rev range, and the VVT really makes the car come alive, a red line of 7200 rpm is awesome, and it's a hard limit, so it bounces! It is a great car with a great engine.

I agree it is a fun car, and it's rare because I don't think it got a lot of press coverage and no one knew about it really, fell under the radar. But it means they are cheap second hand and it means normal people like me can enjoy them for what they are!

Thanks for such a good video. I don’t have the VTS. But I have a red 2008 red Coupe VTR that is great to drive and very innovative. It still fascinates me today. I’ve had an issue with the boot lid failing twice, something to do with the wires breaking. It’s a great car that has taken me up north a few times and do a fortnightly drive into central London and back home again in High Wycombe. I’ve always thought these look a lot nicer and more innovative than the VW Golf. The Golf even today, just looks boring to me, especially inside. The C4 was exceptionally stylish and clever for its time and I still think it is, compared to what’s on the market today. Great review, thank you.

Nice review there! I've got an HDI 2.0 VTS Coupe myself since 3 months and I have put 5k km's on the clock. I can definitely tell that the spoiler does come from the factory :) It was included only on the rarely bought 2.0 HDi's, 1.6 HDi's didn't get it along with some extra trim levels. Fortunately I can say that the tyres do make a huge difference between the corners in the track, mine was wobbly, but after ensuring the suspension has no faults and I changed tyres I could definitely see it going. I haven't been able to test competitors cars that were in the same good condition so I cannot really say for sure if the C4 VTS Coupe would be inferior to them.
@carmanick4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoy yours. The C4 is fun to drive and the grip I find is good, but the standard suspension is quite soft, good for British roads! I've paid 1000 pounds for my 1.6VTR+ coupe in black 3 years ago with 40k miles... Still runs great.. I've changed front and rear shocks@springs AUTODOC👌 and brake discs@pads... When I bought it the cruise control didn't work.. After changing the clutch switch and cleaning the steering wheel buttons it worked for week but then stopped working? Cruise control is essential for me and I've almost sold the car but then as the last chance I've bought 2nd steering wheel control unit for 20 pounds of ebay.. Changed it my self with help from KZbin 🤣 And the cruise control works like a dream... I love it to have it on the steering wheel rather then on stalk behind it like audi@mercedes@bmw of this era... The ONLY few downsides is the lack of proper cup holders(there is space!) and.... Well that's it... For 3 Door Coupe looking hatchback it's pretty amazing... Fits mountain bike in the boot or even a large table or drawers... Spare wheel... The other thing I need to improve its the sound of the actual engine.. The 1.6 16v it's somehow sounding really like wining other then grunting... But hey it's for every day driving so it's perfectly adequate.. 40mpg at 65-70mph which is great... Also the rear wiew window split it's exact the level of the lights of cars behind you so at night I don't get dazzling from lights which is great. It has dimming rear wire mirror anyway... The boot divider is simply genius... Simply clever idea for sure can't believe ŠKODA hasn't think of it 1st(I'm CZECH BTW😜) But the best thing are the seats! I have lumbar support and they are so comfy... I'm 5"7 so not that tall and they feel excellent... Just so comfy and soft with decent side support... My mate who is a bit more chunky did react and comment on them when 1st sitting inside... Arm rest it's a must and it works well... So yeah I have to say its pretty good value for money car... I wouldn't be as happy without the arm rest and rear parking sensors so go for VTR+ to get the important toys for sure... Great 3 Door Coupe for very little money... Still looks pretty futuristic even now 17 years later ❤️
@carmanick2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for commenting. Your VTR+ sounds pretty awesome. Well done solving the cruise control. I agree I can't live without it either and it's super helpful the buttons are on the wheel where you can see them! Sounds like a hassle for fixing but well done on finding the issue. I maybe have too much engine sound due to my exhaust but it does make the 2.0 sound great! I agree on the cup holders you are so right! They could've done something for sure, maybe the trays under the vents could have been fold out cup holders?! The boot storage is definitely a similar idea to the Skoda simply clever touches, and they should so copy this idea from Citroen! Funny you say about.the split window, I always complain it makes it hard to see cars behind on the motorway but I suppose that does mean the lights don't blind you! I hope you continue to enjoy your car, I still love mine!

@@carmanick Yes I did not know about the trim that pops out in the boot, and I didn't know about the one under the passenger's seat either! So thanks for those! I've had this car for years now and I'm only at 87000km which is fairly uncommon I think. I've been looking to make some changes in the interior. I don't have the factory media system and I'm really tired of burning CDs in 2021 my friends have been making fun of me. I also really dislike the feel of the steering wheel material I think I might get a fake leather sew on. Great video btw!

@@DenizCDemir Thankyou for watching and commenting :). That’s low kilometres, mine is on 160000km so nearly double! It is a shame there is no Bluetooth but the car is a little old. Maybe you can plug aux in somewhere? Hope you have more happy years and make the changes you want!

@@carmanick Thank you very much! I will be looking to add a usb or aux for sure!

Hi, I love that colour! One question, do your headlights make a grinding noise when ignition is switched on, when they initialise? kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKWcan-nm8yBfs0 Mine are on the link.

Hi Thankyou and thanks for watching. I’ve never noticed that noise on mine at all. Can you hear it from inside the car?
@chutac0094 жыл бұрын
@@carmanick Hey, thanks for answering. It can be heard from the inside, but only if you listen very carefully and the radio isn't on.

@@chutac009 I’ll take a closer look, I always have the radio on but I’ve never noticed it before. I’ll have a play next week and let you know!

der war damals eine sehr interresante Alternative zu den etablierten produkten aus Deutschland, Korea oder Japan. Leider kommt ja nichts gleichwertiges mehr aus England oder Italien!!!
@carmanick Жыл бұрын
