It takes years of grit and patience to build a multi billion dollar fast food empire. Kroc turned a burger stand in the desert into a global market leader. The only thing he backstabbed them on was the royalty (which I feel they're owed) but they also had no vision on ambition.

+FuZZy961 Well I'm using the term "A list" in reference of the industry he works in. He had a long period in which he was doing garbage movies and the quality of his work had demolished. Now he is offered roles in better movies and now people see his name in a movie and think this might be a really good movie. I agree with almost everything else you said. I also enjoyed BVS very much even though it had problems with the movie because it was fun and exciting.

This movie advertised before one of my "Judge Judy Vs Cartoon Series" episodes and I said to myself, 'how has a movie like this about the beginnings of the most popular franchise in all the world not never been done.' This movie really is a long time coming. Both McDonalds and Walmart should have movies about their beginnings and roads to success. I can't wait for this. I would sure as hell never work at an embarrassing job like McDonald's, but I would love to watch the movie. On another note, where the hell as Michael Keaton been? This must be his first movie in like a decade.

I just watched this film. My takeaway? A man I thought was a great businessman REALLY signed a deal with the McDonald's brothers and because they were difficult (sometimes foolish) about his suggestions for changes he found a way to steal their company and then for good measure made them take the McDonald's name off their original store, opened his own McDonald's across the street to destroy them.. refused to pay them the royalties he promised because they trusted his word and in the meantime dumped the wife who stood by him all those years and took someone else's.. who became the saintly Joan Koch we came to know. Not flattering.

Thats a bit of a long shot. "Birdman" was the role of a lifetime for Keaton, a character with intentional similarities to himself, where he poured every ounce of anger, pain and hope into a knockout, highlight of the year performance. To top that would be a true task. It would be a bit like Mickey Rourke trying to top "The Wrestler".

@mitchellmurray5892

Michael Colby I compared it to Mickey Rourke because it was a very similar story for the two actors - both of them were in the later portions of their careers, both had a shot at a big break after being faded into obscurity, and both brought every ounce of anguish from years of personal torment into their performance. So the final product is virtually a carbon copy of themselves - a lot of the time thats where the most inspired acting comes from. You aren't as impressed with Keaton as a lot of people - thats completely fine, mate. In my opinion, its not only the clear Best Actor choice of 2014, but one of the principle examples of a successful performance in that category.

Well think about it this way if croc wasn’t there who would be the person to scale the business? The original founders of mc Donald’s didn’t even like none of his ideas.

Glenn Bell buys a "Speedy Serve System" from the McDonalds brothers and uses it in his restaurant. In 1962, he decided to go solo and sold the El Tacos to his partner and opened his first Taco Bell. 1964:Bell franchised his restaurant in 1964.1978:His company grew rapidly, and the 868-restaurant chain was later sold to PepsiCo in 1978 for $125 million in stock.Not very exciting. IN and OUT Burger is more interesting as it is more Soap Opera like.

It was the brothers' own decision to sell, nobody forced them to. It was such a large sum of money at the time, considering their circumstances. If McDonald's had gone bankrupt, they would have been very happy that they sold it for such a massive amount and would have said they'd dodged a bullet. Mr. Kroc was an amazing businessman, who won fair and square.

A businessman sees opportunities, takes calculated risks and is innovative, to me that's what Ray Kroc was all about. He tried his best to make the brothers see the bigger picture but they were to afraid to give in.
