Had to come back to this video in remembrance of John. I'm contacting the folks at SmokingPipes to see if they could contact Savinelli and have a commemorative edition of the 673 commissioned in John's honor. I'm sure we all already have a 673 KS, but it would be special to have one made specifically in his memory. Rest in peace my friend.

The Savinelli Roma 673 is now my favorite pipe. I bought it with some Christmas money this year. Savinelli is the best smoking pipe, feels great in the hand, smokes clean and the bowl never gets hot.

Got it finally ,it was difficult but i have my very first Savinelli.673 Roma is impossible to get the only one i could find is the Roma 623.same bowl same rustication just diamond shank ,im so so happy ,thank you John for the inspiration .So wierd that from now on whenever i smoke this pipe ,ill remember all the stories connected to it ,i will remember always distant friends ....thank you

This is such a great recollection of the life of the Friday Savinelli! I bought the 673 after watching your videos. Actually, I have two now! Roma and Tortuga 673's that are fantastic smokers and I actually refer to them as a "Friday Savinelli" because that's what the shape should be called. Thanks for the great video John!

After this one, I spent a good deal of time checking out the 673 series and love everything about it if they could just change that gold band to silver :) The feel in the hand is so important and this model looks like a real Goldilocks. Not too big or small, not too long or short. And the sandblast is ideal since I get nervous about dropping a pipe it's too slippery. Thanks John! You just made me set aside $81 in my pipe fund, haha

John, I don't think realize how popular you have made that ROMA LUCITE 673 KS . Do you remember me telling you a few weeks back I had ordered one for my Birthday on the 15th April just gone. My local Pipe/tobacco retailer couldn't get hold of one for me, they had loads of 673 but not that particular one. I was gutted to say the least and ended up ordering a Rattrays Brownie Sandblast 8 Pipe + Rattrays Fachen 110 Rustic Green with some Mac Baren Classic Flake to boot. Love the 673 story.
