What. This is brilliant. I always make a mess all over my ratchet and floor. Might have to uhhh... Get one for every last vehicle I own. Hope there's one for a 6.2 diesel Detroit!

Don't forget to tighten the valve by grabbing it *over the actual valve body* (the piece with the writing stamp), NOT over the small end hex 'nut'. If you try tightening it over the small hex nut, guaranteed to damage the valve and cause later slow leaks that you won't detect in time and will have a surprise with your engine. Use an adjustable wrench or a large size regular wrench.

I just bought my fumoto drain valve but I noticed you did not include a crush washer. Mine is the rotating drain valve. So no crush washer is needed?
@DKL3825Ай бұрын
Still definitely need a washer.

@ I didn’t add one and mine doesn’t leak because apparently it’s not need but it wouldn’t hurt to add one.

How long does the product last?
@UnknownGod72 жыл бұрын
I just copied and pasted lol I'm not with the company. You can expect our product to outlast your engine, a lot of our customers have had their Fumoto valves for 20+ years! As for the gaskets or o-ring, you don't need to replace them in most cases. However, if you remove the valve and install it again into the oil pan, please replace the gasket or o-ring. In case oil leaks from the gasket, you may need to replace the gasket or o-ring to fix the issue. You can always purchase a few extra gaskets, just in case.

@@UnknownGod7 this is worth looking into. I have 2 vehicles -- 12' Equinox & 16' Maxima (both base models). Is it recommended to have this product fitted on a Maxima? Everything on that is stock but I'm only worried about the ground clearance for that instead of the Equinox

I have a F103SX Fumoto Valve should I put a crush washer on the screw in house before attaching it to the oil pan to tighten ?????
@taisho325 ай бұрын
I don't think it's necessary. It comes with a rubber/silicone gasket ring.

To be honest, I don't find draining an oil pan to be that messy. Just put the oil drain pan in the right place ahead of time, slowly unthread the plug with your hands out of the way of where the oil will drain, and you should get very little oil on your hands or the floor. Even if you get a bit on your hands, just replace your disposable gloves. You are wearing disposable gloves, right? I will admit this valve definitely makes the job faster. There's no doubt about that. But for something I only do twice a year, speed isn't important. Removing the oil filter on the other hand, uhh... if you make a product to somehow make that part not messy, you will have earned my money.

If you put a zip lock bag or any bag really around the filter as you unscrew it, you should catch all the oil.

I can just see that thing getting caught on a vine or branch when driving down a dirt road and dumping oil.

Would have to be a pretty thick branch lol At that point, you may have other issues to worry about

Works great until you knock it off when going over a speed bump in your lowered car. Engine wear then boom shortly down the road.
@FumotoUSA5 жыл бұрын
Great. We don't recommend putting it on lowered cars. We are sorry you will still have to deal with messy oil changes on your lowered car. But for all your other cars, trucks, boats, hogs, power generators, industrial equipment, you're in luck.

Most cars these days, and for the last 10+ years, have engine shields (plastic panels) covering the underside. Nothing is going to touch the ground.
