Ah yes this game has what point and click fans call "Moon Logic," aka where the solution to a puzzle doesn't use conventional logic to solve it, but instead a very convoluted use of an object or series of events to solve said problem.

As a bit of a one-time HOG addict, these games are all identical with identical puzzles, but are a great way to 100% a game in under 2 hours when you just wanna turn off your brain. And they sometimes have unintentionally hilarious writing - my favorite line from one was on a recipe for cooking chicken, step 1 was "remember that it is a bird." Wanna know something really weird though? Every one of these has that "custom cursor" option, but unchecking it doesn't actually disable the custom cursor - it just makes it smaller and more responsive. It's bizarre.
@leev4448 ай бұрын
this game is 1000% much older. the only walkthrough available online is from 2012, so at least that. but also it says 2014 in the credits? idk, sometimes while shoveling old games onto steam people forget to adjust the year it was released in. also no matter what I have to appreciate that they added those bars to the sides so that your computer doesn't go "3:4???? absolutely NOT"
@Manectrix20008 ай бұрын
This really seems like the game needed more time in the oven. Not sure if there were any testers besides the devs. If there were any 3rd party testers, maybe the light puzzle could have been redesigned. Or a voiceover of the player character could play showing that whatever you used is an incorrect item. Using the vine/light puzzle as an example. (Using the scissors) Larry: No, these vines are too thick for these scissors to cut. (Using the matches) Larry: I don’t think I can create a strong enough flame with these. I think more prompts like that could have improved the experience a bit. Doesn’t change how the visuals are, but the play experience could improve the game a bit.

It's just a run of the mill hidden object game, looks and plays just like the other 32768 of 'em. There's so many of them, that I find it actually surprising this is the first one you came across in the series.

This game is from 2016? It looks like a bargain bin PC game from 2003, like that distinct use of low-poly, plastic-like textures is so emblematic of the era. I don't mind the art style, but they don't really do much to stand out from their competition, which sucks because the use of time loops honestly sounds really interesting.

Its actually from 2014, but was posted to steam in 2016. Not that excuses the art.

“Somehow our I Spy prowess will break this town free of the time bubble?” I mean, the old I Spy games made it make some sense how I Spying across random parts of a port town helped you find hidden pirate treasure and stuff like that, so I buy it. And damn, now I’m just nostalgic for old PC games I’ll likely never be able to play again…

I used to play the heck out of these kinds of games when I was younger, although I have no memory of ever playing this one. There may be a few that I have played that you will one day end up playing, but it might be a few years before that. Sorry for a lack of comments from me recently, I have been keeping up with your vids! Hopefully we have a few good games coming up. (I have doubts for next week's though)

@@Treekyboi tecnically i dont think this counts as one? This is more like going to a haunted town, an isekai usually requires a full world change or something equivalent, like being trapped in a virtual world, like sao, or waking up in a future so different that it counts as a different world, which i guess would make futurama an isekai?

Adding in information to revel the reason people are "dissapering" from the loop being them 1 by 1 getting pulled out just before it started, and being able to see how much time has passed, but not remember it, and eather escaping aged, or failing to perform the ritual correctly leading them to dissappear would have solved it. Or just say it rubbed up against reality and he got pulled in and the time oddness aged him and the coppy of the train

Was never fond of Hidden Objects games to be honest. One has to REALLY stand out to win me over. The problem I have with Hidden Objects is that they are "let us make money quick" games that feel way too similar. Well, they always ended up quickly in a bargain bin.

Okay yes Larry COULD have set the vines on fire using the match book. That's logical and makes sense. But have you considered that the mirror solution, while more intricate, more time-consuming, less efficient is also...cooler? Checkmate Graeldon.
