Honestly next to the cut alternate opening for Part III with Michael and the Archbishop, I always preferred this opening even if it's for television. It does a much better of segwaying you back into this world while not dumping you right into it and shows you Michael rethinking his life and the mistakes he's made. It really does make the scene where Michael flashes back to the death of Fredo before being blessed in the church waaay more impactful especially with the last two scenes they show with Kay and Fredo.

That was very very good. Not exactly a recap of the first two Godfather's but it does focus on Michael and how his life has unfolded. Coppola makes him almost too sympathetic but still, that is great editing.

When I look at the Home in Lake Tahoe, Nevada and how it's a mess, it reminds me of Farthingale Manor aka "Farthy" in The Heaven Series by VC Andrews (RIP). Also in Garden Of Shadows the prequel to flowers in the attic, the Dollhouse goes in the beginning as a mess to a beautiful expensive Toy.

@@sonnyhale Are you sure that these shots belong to the third part? A thoughtful grown-up Michael appears in the very last frame of the second part. Maybe this is an alternative ending to the second part? In addition, I saw footage with this Michael where he is sitting at a table with some woman. I even thought, maybe they filmed a separate storyline with this version of Michael that was not shown to us anywhere? Can you tell me what information you have on these captured frames and where you found this information?

There was nothing wrong with THE GODFATHER PART III. A few mistakes. Robert Duvall should have returned to play the aging consigliere Thomas Hagen. He was terribly missed. Sofia Coppola playing Mary Corleone was terrible now I can tolerate it. From what I read that Wynona Ryder got cast as Mary Corleone. Julia Roberts, Laura San Giancomo, Annabella Sciorra and the doomed Rebecca Schaefer were considered to be cast. Unfortunately, Schaefer was murdered by a deranged fan (who separate fantasy from reality,) that guy was stalking her for a while. The day Rebecca Schaefer was supposed to have an audition and interview for the role of Mary Corleone at Paramount Pictures, she was brutally killed. The character of Michael Corleone was cold and brutal. As Coppola put it, "A zombie". Instead he's like this grandfatherly figure. That set the Fans off and they didn't like it at all. Pacino Shines as the aging and diabetic Michael Corleone. Andy Garcia who played Vincent Mancini, the bastard son of Santino, he was overacting at times to be like his Father, Santino Corleone. Diane Keaton was superb as Kay, who moved on with her life and got married. Got custody of the children. Franc D'Ambrosio who plays Michael's son Anthony Corleone resents his father and never went into the business and he knew that his Father murdered his uncle, Frederico Corleone. Talia Shire as Constanza, the more protector of her brother Michael and member of the Corleone Family was good. I guess she accepted the fact Michael was just being "strong for us the way Papa was". Eli Wallach and Joe Mantegna were very good at playing Michael's enemies. Also, the reconciliation between Michael and Kay was gentle as well. Lots of violence. The plot line was confusing. I didn't understand the Immobiliare. Murders during Anthony Corleone's operatic debut as 'Turridu" in "Cavalleria Rusticana" in Sicily was constructive. I know Coppola tried his best to achieve his directing talents in this film but it didn't do that well at the box office. The film grossed $66 million?? The Film was wandering around a little bit, I must say. I appreciate THE GODFATHER PART III, more than ever.

I would, but there are no deleted scenes I can post. No extra material exists except for what is in the director's cut and coda, all the extra scenes seem to have been lost.
