The Good News never gets old! Praise the Lord for teaching that gives all the sovereign and complete credit to God! John Piper has made this abundantly clear both in God's Old Testament prophecies and New Testament declarations. The Lord Jesus came as planned to die for our sins and to rise again, and was in complete control of the deliberate process.

Marty Blackman that’s awesome. It’s great how God makes His word personal to us. Last night I prayed in a way that Psalm 22 was written. When Dr Piper mentioned it, it helped me to understand that CHRIST understands the way I feel in my sufferings.

The idols of possessions and praise are real in every heart, we love to own material and love to be appreciated by man. All these at the expense of the gospel. Surely the solution is Love for Christ and praise from Christ. Amen

@@HearGodsWord , this is so revealing; an example of why Pastor John's teachings are so powerful, in truth-bombs, for me. Not once in my readings, nor by my local Pastors, (over many years), has satan ever been defined so clearly, honing in on the sinful nature of man. As in, sin, was measured by a separation in degrees on an "evil" scale. - I think, I just met my own prideful nature. Mercy!

John Piper preaches a false gospel of working for salvation but none of the fools following him know any better because they don't realize Jesus IS salvation and therefore doing good works for Jesus is the same as doing works for salvation. They assume they have "faith alone for salvation" but continue to offer their own works to God After salvation---therefore continuing to work for salvation under the mirage they are of "faith alone".

@plain liam WRONG. James 2:24 "Man is SAVED by WORKS and not by faith alone". You are forgetting God had to provide WORKS for your salvation and if you have been saved, those are the works you do. If you aren't saved, you do the works of man and every religion. But if you have been saved by God's perfect works, then CHRIST is your PERFECT WORKS, GOOD FRUIT and FULL REWARD.
