Am 9 index and watched this video before heading out. Checked my grip at club with pro who had one of those training aids. Right hand had become too strong and resulted in heel strikes. Fixed grip and strike and path changed. Just ordered my own weighted grip training aid to use as a warm up. Amazing how things slide if you don’t stay on top of them !

Brilliant tip/reminder. I was slapping my irons a bit. Watched this, tweaked my grip and did it with the club off the ground, and now hitting much more cleanly.

My left hand grip was pretty much spot on, but I had ignored the importance of the right hand. Now I have it much more in the fingers of the right hand - ball striking has improved and consistency has improved. Kudos to PH, so much appreciated

Thanks for all of the tips Paddy! I spent a while on the first two videos in this series just working on the motion and finding the ground. Between those and this grip video something appears to have clicked (for now at least), and not a single one of my tee shots had my usual slice when I went out for 9 yesterday! Feels like I’m finally able to use my height and long limbs and even hit my longest drive so far (~305 carry) dead straight!

I was stuck at mid hc, playing twice a week. Got a mat and net at home and hit everyday. I start with wedge then every 2nd club to 5w, 5 each and back down again. Im hitting the sweet spot more. Im now 10 hc. Next focus is wedge around greens for more up and downs... Shot shaping is my biggest improvement..

This grip advice is so timely for me. When I play well I play to a 2-3 index. Yet every year I notice a stretch when I drift up towards a 5 and each time I notice its my grip that gets weird. To the point where my hands come apart during the top of the backswing. Once I notice that and for whatever reason it takes sometime for me to catch it, I start to focus on the loading the club in the fingers and keeping the hands together. Then Shazam I'm back. Thanks for the validation.

So Ive found that I have a different grip with my woods, as I do with my irons and wedges. My driver/woods grip is neutral, where as my iron/wedges are very strong. So I notice days when Im hitting one better that the other, it turns out to be my grip 99% of the time. Duck hooking driver with a strong grip, or pushing/slicing irons with a weak grip. On the days that my focus is on point, I break 80 😂

I am loving this video series!!! I’m definitely along for the journey. On the tip about getting clubs re-gripped to get a different feel… an alternative is trying a new make of golf glove while you fix your grip. Much more subtle but does help in the same sort of way.

Honest question, I've come to golf quite late and only started playing the last couple years, due to playing previous sports such as hurling I find it far more comfortable playing cack handed or left below right. I've tried holding the club the traditional way but it feels like writing left handed. I struggle to generate any power let alone accuracy. Does it really matter which way your hands are orientated ie cack handed/traditional grip when applying these tips and trying to improve at the game?

That makes for a very different swing. I tried it. The short irons are easy the long irons are really difficult. I think the handle needs to be more forward at impact when you hold it like that. Ill wait for the next lesson.

First grip video where the entire video is waving the club around like a total nutt job. So much for instructing on the proper grip. Just wave the club around and you'll do just find.
@vstags2 ай бұрын
You won’t be able to wave the club like he’s doing unless you’re gripping it correctly
@lasvegasbreakingnews17522 ай бұрын
@@vstags Actually, the proper grip locks your arms, hands, wrists, and there is little ability to wave the club around. Here's the link to Seve's video where he simply instructs on the proper grip. You will note he doesn't spend a single word on "waving" the club around. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ6Yppukn9CmjKs
