The GR Supra RETURNS... this time with MODS! | JB4 Tuned, Intake, MXP Catted Downpipe

Today we drive my friends' 2021 Toyota GR Supra after he has done some modifications to it. He had it tuned with a JB4 handheld piggyback tuner, AWE carbon fiber intake, catless downpipe, and had some wider Konig wheels and Falken tires installed. These mods have completely changed how the car drives, watch the video to find out my thoughts and reaction to this modified Supra!

Wonder what a jb4 tune with the aftermarket upgraded air to water radiator would do, and after that if your throw a aftermarket intake

JB4 gave bold claims, I have seen some videos with dyno gains of about 40hp after the JB4 fitted, an extra 20hp with a downpipe, but still not a 100hp gain, In another video by Lemon, there was no power gain at all, I think BMW is making things more difficult for piggybacking, better to go with ECU unlock.

Definitely not 600hp and I doubt it’s 500. Prolly close to 460 to the wheels. I talked to a tuner about the limits of the JB4

with a 2020 you have the unlocked ecu, a couple bolt-ons and a pro tune can get you to 600hp at the crank easily. you're the lucky one lol!!

Anyway .. alot of people sell used JB4 .. so you can find it for half the price or if you're lucky maybe one third the price

Your more around 430hp with these mods you need more fuel like meth to get around 480hp bigger turbo on top of that to get yo 600hp. Should do a dyno pull video

He meant crank. But yes you're right, it's probably in the 430-440whp range without a tune since the JB4 is essentially a boost controller. They seem to make 410-420whp without the mods he has on map 2 or 4

Have you put that thing on a dyno? Might want to do that if you haven't so you can get some true numbers.

when I dynoed my 2022 completely stock, it made 368whp and 415 tq. mind you I live in las vegas, and only get 91 octane, so numbers are a bit lower than what it would be on 93 at sea level

It’ll remove the light from your dash for about 30 miles, then it comes back.

Do you need to connect your car to the jb4 everytime or does it keep the map after you set it once?

Not sure, the owner of the car says he uses the jb4 every time he drives just to make sure.

It's a one n done. He "uses the JB4" to monitor his gauges on his phone. You don't have to log in to keep running it, the device is already plugged in.

A nice car, but not my cup of tea. I hate when they discontinue a car and then bring it back completely different with the same name. It is one thing to change the look over the years, but if you cancel it and bring it back looking completely different give it a new name.

It’s actually really similar just with modern technology… only difference is where it’s made… but if someone cares more about brand names than the actual machine they probably aren’t real car guys anyway
