I knew he was gifted with improv skill, but I don't think I really realised just how much of the descriptions and cool stuff just comes straight off the top of his head. he probably wont need one. the tale of reynard is one of a young man who wanted to be an adventurer and a hero like his ancestors but was not able to do so properly on his own. just by traveling with the party and helping out with the broken sky issue reynard has already become a greater hero and developed as a character more than most of the party did in their mini arcs. meaning that the whole campaign from this point is reynard's arc. though we will likely get a big transitional moment where reynard realizes this and is finally given closure on where he stands in the world and his ambition.

Sadly it seems he would, when Elora started to take her circlet off to hide it as a "valuable" item to get past the guards, the Guardian IMMEDIATELY warned her about keeping it in his view. But yeah, either Mark just forgot, or he was being nice because it was a sentimental part to Kim's character.

That bit where Mark threw them a huge hint in the form of Melody mentioning the Guardian was a huge database of knowledge, before that moment I was mentally screaming as they seemed hell bent on not realising the fact the Guardian would probably be able to translate it for them. As soon as he(she) said it, my eyes moved to Kim just waiting for her to put two and two together and my god she did not disappoint. Katie was there as well just a tiny step behind, but I knew Kim wouldn't let us down :)

Here's the thing with that though: jiutóu's intelligence isn't that high. So she should be played as kinda dull. Trott, who often knows a lot more about what's going on, plays Cam as a lovable idiot. Which is the way he built the character and part of the RP. Your stats and abilities are your script. Kim just goes whatever Kim knows Jiutóu knows, which kind of "ruins my immersion".

I'm really sad that Trellimar is now officially gone for good. He and Trott were the dynamic duo that kept me laughing throughout the whole series, and excitedly awaiting the next episode (well, that and the story of course). He and Cam were my favorite characters and it will just never be the same without him ;_;. One of the things that makes me even more sad is knowing that Trelly belly's story is probably never going to be wrapped up. I know that Matt said that he thought Mark did a nice job wrapping up Trellimar's story but I would disagree, there was more to learn about Trellimar's patron and the plans he had in store, we never got to learn the complications that led to him getting his powers, also I wanted Trell to be there to help defeat the broken sky at the end of the series as he was one of the original members of the cast and was invested in fighting them and whatnot (who knows maybe that will still happen and then Trell can join in on the happily ever after at the end of the series). I know that Trellimar is fighting the broken sky down in the underdark but that was supposed to be temporary. And canonically speaking unless he died or he got caught up in something else that was really important he was going to come right back. (but Mark probably already has that covered by now.) Now I know at this point I may look like I'm being selfish and that I think that Trell should come back whether Matt wants to or not but that is not the case, Matt's happiness is more important but I just wish that the above mentioned things would be sorted out. Also as I said he's a great character. As a final note before anyone assumes I have something against Tom I will point out that I have nothing against Tom/Reynard as he has been great and I do love his crazy plans and his banter with Cam has been funny enough, it just makes me miss Trell a bit more and makes me wonder what kind of shenanigans Cam, Reynard, and Trellimar could have gotten into together.

A little late for posting, but I would just like to say once again- Mark, you have done an outstanding job yet again. A Yuan-ti hoard, the wolf princess and Crownrend, and so much more. You are truly a great story teller. Also, glad to see we got Tom as a perminent player in the game. A bit of unbalance having two laughing stocks in the party (Reynard and Cam), but they are laughing stocks for different reasons, so maybe it will be okay. Sad to hear that Matt is done with DnD. I loved him (as of the time of writing this, my account picture is Trellimar), and I really wanted to see the end of his little story arc. Still, it's Matt's descision, abd whatever he does now, I will do my best to support it. Keep up the good work guys, and lets hope Jiutou gets a new guan-dow (may be spelled incorrectly). P.S.- Mark, out of curiosity, could you maybe tell us what was going to happen in the rest of Trellimar's story arc, or at least give us pieces of it in case of any last minute changes on Matt's descision later on?

that's only because Monk abilities for the most party only use 1 at a time, with the exception of the spellcasting of the archetype Kim took (can't remember what it's called) while a sorcerer's metamagics tend to cost 2 or more as well as the cost of creating spell slot (which is compensated by them being able to sack slots for more) though they do still tend to burn themselves out a lot faster

And Cam's action of blindly thinking of saving the children had NOTHING to do with her decision to use her weapon to bolt the door against the monsters. Even if Cam had waited those seconds, she still would not have been able to remove the guandou from the door handles. As always, she blames others for her own choices and takes out her abusive anger on others in retribution instead of growing from it and realizing that she actually made a noble sacrifice. But, important question. Does her anger exist because noble sacrifice, when weighed against her own selfish desires to be a powerful warrior and having the tools that help give her that power, isn't as intoxicating a drug to Jiutou? How different then is she from Crownrend? Or more importantly, from the Dragonborn slaver who killed her parents? Those are the deep, overhanging questions about the inner Jiutou.

Did Elora ever give Jiutuo the belt that was perfect for her. Massive strength for a melee character makes so much more sense then for someone who turns into animals and uses the animal's strength, or uses a bow or magic. Not to mention it makes the wearer fill out some, which compliments Juituo's age issue by making her look older.

I'm not talking about optimizing anything. It makes no sense for a person who avoids using physical strength to use the belt. It would be like giving a druidic spellcasting item to Juituo instead of Elora and saying Oh this makes sense.

Monks don't have to use Dex, they just have the option to do so. So if Juituo had the belt it would help her attack and do damage and all the other things a high strength helps with when meleeing. Elora doesn't ever melee using her own strength, she relies on the strength of her animal forms. Also there is the added side benefit of making Juituo not look like a child anymore. It just confuses me is all.

ALSO, the monster manual has an entry specifically for animated objects, and it states that they are all immune to poison damage.

Yeah. I don't even see anything in the PHB that would lead someone to believe they could be poisoned. The closest thing is that it goes from being an object to being a creature. But as both of you point out the creature type would be construct. I don't think that a construct exists in 5E that isn't naturally immune to poison. The thing is you do need that Monster Manually entry to provide a stat block where that information would be stated explicitly.

Why does everyone think Elementals can't speak? Both with Keyleth in CR and Elora in HR they can't talk when transformed... But Elementals can speak!!! They even have their own language!!!

Balancing issue. Druids get the Beast Spells feature at level 18 allowing them to cast spells that require Vocal or Somatic components in Wild Shape. The 10th level ability to become an Elemental would allow a Circle of the Moon Druid to effectively circumvent that 8 levels early because they should already be capable of V and S casting. It's still weird to take those things out because it seems arbitrary but it kind of has to be explained somehow. Matt and Mark effectively treat Wild Shape Elementals the same as Beasts to sidestep the issue.
