There’s two good endings regarding the Khans in my opinion, with one of which being bad for the Khans, and good for the restoration of civilization. The Great Khans are nothing more than chem-addicted raiders, so they don’t exactly deserve to create a Northwestern empire. Additionally, the whole empire idea implies a future conflict with whatever comes of the NCR should the NCR win Hoover Dam. The best ending for the Khans is having the NCR move them far north of NCR trade routes, so that NCR’s operations in the Southwest could expand and prosper without having the Khans be further involved through their raids. The second best ending, if NCR wins Hoover Dam and regains its strength, would likely be the Northwestern empire, but it’s not necessarily that good of an idea when you consider that the Khans could build a nation and use it to get revenge on the NCR in a future title.

The Great Khans provide an interesting dilemma that is shared by one of the most unlikely of groups - the Institute. The dilemma being: should a faction's current generation be punished for the crimes of its predecessor's? The Khans and Institute are both guilty of terrible things, but they both pale in comparison to the sins of their forebears. Both groups have a chance to greatly improve the wasteland with the help of another group (the Followers and Minutemen, respectively) if led down the straight and narrow path. Personally, I cannot stand the Great Khan's hypocrisy and victim complex, and I tend not to seek their golden ending. And yet, I like giving the Institute a second chance to actually benefit the Commonwealth. The way I see it, the Khans throughout the decades have shown very little noble aspirations when compared to the Institute's ideals. Thanks for your many brilliant and wonderful videos.

So the history of the great khans summarized is: "Khans harm people, people genocide the khans so they cant harm them no more, khans run away, start harming people elsewhere" And that three times in a row. Hopefully they learn and become smarter in wyoming, but i doubt it, the legion is the only long term solution to such tribes and the ncr did nothing wrong in bitter springs besides leaving survivers and apologizing afterwards.

Is there evidence in the games of the Great Khans engaging in slave trading independently (as in, not under the purview of their alliance with the Legion)? I've been playing the HOI4 OWB mod with a friend lately and was playing a game as the Great Khans. After I did the national focus to conquer the territory of a nearby tribe, I had a couple more national focuses to do that involved enslaving about 1 in 3 of the civilians in the newly-conquered territory, and then training the people to adopt Khan ways. It felt similar to a kind of assimilation the Legion would conduct, and it made me wonder if it was something the mod creators added in based on established lore or not (specifically the Great Khans independently engaging in slavery/assimilation in that manner).
