Hi Katie, I’m really enjoying your video podcasts. One of the things I like about them and find an inspiration is that you talk about your fears and apprehension in beginning or during your work. This goes on for me and it often means I don’t even begin. It’s nice to see that you have it too.

Don’t ever feel like you have to be on a schedule. I love that you are podcasting when you feel like doing it. I always listen to podcasts with earbuds in and it never makes such a big impact as when I listen to yours because your background music is so beautiful. Also I just love the pace, your soft voice, the whole feel how you edit it with bits of music and just watching you do things, bits of narration,… Fantastic. Thank you!

Dear Katie, thank you so much for another beautiful podcast. Your quiet, gentle and peaceful musings are balm for the soul. Your butterfly paintings are gorgeous. And I think it's lovely that the butterfly, in Greek mythology, is the symbol for the soul (psyche). Please do not feel bound by a schedule. Katie, than you for another beautiful podcast. I swear my breathing deepens and the stress just leaves my body as I begin watching. I am happy to watch whenever you feel like posting them, without any expectation as to how often that might be. I also wanted to say I completely agree about pockets in my skirts and dresses. I get inordinately excited any time a garment has them but it wasn't until you said they are comforting, that I knew why. That is exactly it! Thank you for being you and for sharing that with us.

You amaze me with how you can manipulate that ink on the butterfly. I will be excited to see them complete. I love your jumper you're working on. That sleeve will be done lickety split and you will be wearing it. Checks can be challenging. I tackled a striped 4 panel on the bias circle skirt with a fabric that had 3 stripe repeat - match the notches and other landmarks on the pattern and baste, baste, baste!

Hi Katie, lovely episode! I could watch you paint all day, especially with such beautiful music playing in the background. I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and bought the Gypsum Skirt which has amazing pockets, have you seen it? I’ve never made a garment before but very keen to make some staple pieces for my wardrobe. I spotted the Burnside bibs a little while ago and fell in love with them, I’m not sure they would be good for a beginner like myself just yet but maybe one day! As for the knitting needles sadly I’m not the best person to suggest however speaking from experience working with hooks I have to agree. I love working with wooden hooks and if I’m working on something which requires a large size I will reach for wooden over metal. However when it comes to working with very fine yarn like mohair I feel more comfortable with metal. I also find my tension will change and I’m also loose for both Crochet and knitting. It’s really nice seeing little snippets of you and Jack exploring. I agree about the schedule, that’s the mistake I made, which has sadly resulted in me not filming and now it’s been so long my confidence has taken a knock. That’s not to say I won’t film again, but right not it doesn’t feel right. Lots of love xxx

Hi Katie. I just wanted to say "hi"as I live in North Devon and am very familiar with the beautiful countryside you and Jack show, I find it comforting in it's familiarity. I love watching all the crafts you engage in and your lovely calm manner. I have your book too and, sadly, also find this familiar. I think you have really achieved something in creating drawings to put in place when there are sometimes no words. I look forward to your podcast particularly for these reasons. Take care and keep doing what you enjoy. X

Hello Katie, I enjoy your podcasts, you have a soothing demeanor and I can listen and work away. I am an artist too, and it is so comforting to hear that sometimes you don't do a particular medium for a while. Sometimes I can get down on myself if I'm not working on all the things all the time. Flowers don't bloom all year right? I totally get not wanting to put yourself on a scheduled, the second I have to do something, I run away, no matter what it is, lol. Thank you for putting out great content :)

Hi Katie. Another podcast I enjoyed! The variation made with the beautiful footage between crafting is something so calming. I wonder how you made those? Do you have a tripod with you on your walks? The sewing pins are completely new to me, but they look very handy. The painting images making the butterflies was also nice to watch; what a beautiful result. Thank you for now and see you. (Whenever that will be: scheduling isn't necessarily!). 🌷

For great knitting needles, a favorite of a couple of Norwegian knitters, are the Prym Ergonomic knitting needles, which are round needles with a metal cord so it doesn’t twist. I'm not sure how small of size they come in. Another favorite is the Indian Lake Artisans 'newist needles' - wood needles which are hand turned out of a new (secret) strong composite fiber.
