Funny thing is, he skipped stuff I didn't skip and other bits I did skip that he didn't - such as the dropping down the fire pit in the temple, I teleported upwards...lol I also did the balloon into the room up top too early...rip.

To be fair, all the other temples in the game are designed with such high ceilings that you can’t just use ascend to skip large parts of them. The lightning temple has excellent puzzles if you go in with the self imposed challenge of not using ascend, but when the fastest, most obvious, and easiest to execute solution to most of the dungeon’s puzzles is “press L+A,” then you’ve kinda failed as a level designer.

I never really let the gloom spread super far during the Phantom Ganon fight, so I never noticed that the gloom actually incapacitates the sages. Pretty cool detail!

One of my criticisms of this game is repeating the same story over again as well as that “Demon King? Secret stone?” or “Secret stone? Demon King?” Lines. I wish Nintendo could give more info of who are the Ancient Sages are before and during the Imprisoning War. The Sage of Lightening would’ve been interesting since she may of been one of Ganondorf’s top lieutenants who wanted to her people the Gerudo to bring out the misery of the desert. And much like Nabooru of Ocarina of Time, Naboris started to see her Chief’s dark intentions of assassinating Queen Sonia and stole her Sacred Stone. As a result, the Gerudo turned on and she becomes Rauru’s Sage in an effort to eliminate the monster they helped created. And it would’ve been nice to have Kotake and Koume since they might taught Ganondorf to master his Gloom as well as have a one on one boss battle with Twinrova. But that’s on me since I am a sucker on storytelling. Tears of the Kingdom would’ve been a great if the team behind it figured out how to balance gameplay and story .

Same. I was really hoping to see more of the ancient Gerudo’s story here. How they went from loyally serving Ganondorf in memory 3 to fighting against him in memory 9(?). How did the other races of Hyrule respond to the Gerudo suddenly asking for an alliance right after they just declared war on Hyrule? How did the Gerudo reconcile the fact they just helped the ultimate evil rise to power? The other 3 sages giving a kind of generic recap makes sense, since they didn’t know anything about him before he became the demon king. But not letting Nabooru/Naboris say anything about the man she willingly served until he betrayed her and the rest of her people feels like a wasted opportunity. There’s so much interesting story to be told there, and it feels like the writers just ignored it.

@@tylmf Yeah, personally I think the Gloom Spawn shouldn't have had the Phantom Ganon phase 2 until after you beat the main Phantom Ganon. Make the second phase of Gloom Spawn a true Demoted Boss. As to how this would effect the quest to cleanse the Deku Tree, either make that one the exception (since it's the only other Phantom Ganon with Boss Subtitles), or make it unclearable until Phantom Ganons start spawning from defeated Gloom Spawn.

Yeah, I found having to watch the same exact cutscene 4 times with swapped out characters to be mighty boring. Also, I would like a Zelda story that doesn't completely rely on flashbacks.

I love how the old sages all say “you must fight alongside the swordsman” and the new sages keep saying “yes, I vow to fight alongside you” then as soon as the cutscene switches to free-roaming, they say “sorry I can’t go with you. Im staying right here”

this made me so made on link's behalf -- having us run around all over the castle and then doing that! i didn't have the master sword yet for this fight and it was a FIGHT. had to fuse something to a royal halbert and then get a flurry rush for the attack up bonus to do any damage. it was so dang fun. also running around screaming "Riju" describes like 70% of my play-through of this game lol such a mood

Does everyone notice something familiar with the masks each Ancient Sage wears? Because I recognize Vah Naboris through the Sage of Lightening. I wondered if the Sheikahs around Rauru’s era constructed these giant machines as a way to pay tribute to the ones who fought at the King’s side in the Imprisoning War.

They said in BOTW that the divine beasts were named after ancient sages from long ago. Everyone took that to mean the sages from OOT and WW. Then in this game, we get introduced to 4 ancient, unnamed sages, who all wear masks that look exactly like the divine beasts. I feel like the most reasonable assumption is that these sages are named Ruto, Darunia, Nabooru, and Medli.

While he did use Puppet Zelda to reek havoc across Hyrule, preventing the newly appointed Sages (Sidon, Riju, Tolin, and Yunobo) from attaining the Sacred Stones of the Zonai, was Ganondorf using that trick lure Link to a trap since he maybe aware of the hero’s love for his princess? I would find it messed up if that is ever the case.

There was a long time on my first playthrough where I didn't go to the castle after conquering the temples, and instead did a shit ton of unfinished side quests, explored most of the depths, and shrine hunting. It felt like the game was gonna end soon after stepping any where near the castle

For those who may not have known, this includes our boy Deebeegeek. If you whistle (down on the D-Pad), the sages come closer to Link. Just know if you happen to have your horse nearby, he too will answer the "call." Personally i rarely used it myself as in the middle off battle my thought wasn't "let me whistle so i can use this ability", just like everyone else it was "omg omg where the fk is blank sage! I need that ability now!" I personally called for Sidon and Yunobo more than the other 2. When possible i combo Riju and Sidon, it devastated bsttles.

thie lightinig temple is hands down the best dungeon in the game imo cause it actually feels like a dungeon. the traps, the darkness, hidden rooms, puzzles, the temple design, boss, the fact that it has two different phases, it's all 10/10 for me.

Using the Master Sword against Phantom Ganon should have been your first Priority Because A: The Master Sword has infinite Durrability when you encounter Phantom Ganon And B: The Phantom Ganons have a Small Durrability Bonus that decreases all Damage he takes by 10% (Except for the Master Sword) This means fighting Phantom Ganon with any other weapon after you obtained the Master Sword is actually a huge Waste, you don't deal the damage you actually expect Because Nintendo doesnt tell you about this, and in the end your "overpowered weapons" just happen to get damaged or Break for... nothing... Because you have an Infinite Durrability weapon right with you at that moment, so the only logical conclusion is to use the infinite durrability to not waste your other good weapons and spare them for other bosses
