Great tutorial - I love this bag! Gussets still scare me, but I had never heard to clip only the straight edge going around the curve - thank you for sharing that tidbit!

Excellent video. I have some tooled leather very similar to yours, but I don't have a skiver and I don't use my Juki 1541S yet. This is definitely an aspirational bag for me, exactly as you have made it. I think I'll try making it out of cork with leather fringe on my Janome HD9 first. Thanks also for the inspiration.

Your bag is beautiful! I think machine is struggling because of tape. It doesn't dry like glue, it stays gummy. It glums up the needle.

Emmaline Bags carries extra wide strap sliders for either 1/2" or 3/4" sliders and definitely for 1inch straps. They work great for leather or vinyl straps.

I had fusible foam that I attached with an iron. But you can use some heat and bond if you don't have fusible foam. amzn.to/3yrxxgB

I have a Juki DNU1541 it came with a piping foot.

Has anyone done this on a domestic. A lot of layers of leather to get through.

This would be a tough one on a domestic. Your choices for materials will really have to be ultra thin. You are correct, the layers get pretty thick.
