I love the dan john armor building complex!!

For those unfamiliar, armor building complex (abc) is 2 cleans, 1 press, 3 squats. Often programmed every minute on the minute (emom). I prefer it to the variation shown here because press is the limiting factor, but abc balances by increasing cleans and squats.

I love these tutorials. Squeeze the glutes, tense the quads. Ribcage down. Straight back. Awesome stuff. Cheers 👊

Thank you for covering the 'common mistakes'. This allows those without a coach (other than you) to monitor and correct ourselves. I look forward to this feature in your videos, as it has helped me correct myself

Ha. I felt a need to do this exact complex in my session this morning. That’s a fun synch. Brutal hard.

That’s in the sequence I started with because of the advice to use the Double Clean and Press as a builder. I might rest in the clean position because I can’t afford not to, properly, work the flamingo legs. 👍🏻. Cheeky!

Hi, I am familiar with EMOM but what does ABC refer to in this context? Is it a kind of grouping movements into a superset? Thanks in advance!

I appreciate your caution about avoiding injury as that will preclude workouts until healing has taken place. Something of a corollary to that is that the workout needs to be sufficient for progressive overload purposes, but if the workout is too much, e.g., too much volume relative to weight, and ultimately too taxing upon the body, the natural reaction will be to not want to workout. Enthusiasm for the next workout will evaporate and there is only so much we can do to force ourselves to workout. "Overtraining" is a term often used by people who are no where near overtrained, but I am do wonder if you could do a video more specifically speaking to how much to train. Train enough to grow and to continue to progress but not too much to overload and burnout physically and emotionally. I always want to look forward to my next workout but if I have done too much it is too easy to find other things to do. Thank you for your videos!

Earlier video, Mark says his experience is no more than 7% extra on anything, round down to 5%. Any more leads to the burnout you mention. Also deload weeks.

Well, I feel good cause I can do this complex with double 40 kg and 44kg. Then again, i competed in Olympic Style Weightlifting until age 40. I always like the gym bros whose overhead press is really a standing incline bench press because all they do is bench press which robs you of overhead mobility needed for the snatch/clean & Jerk. Olympic Style weightlifters do floor presses rather then bench presses as floor presses place the emphasis more on the shoulders, less on the chest. Same with dips. OLW will do dips for the shoulder aspect of the dip..

If you working with double 44 kg, that is double 97lb, you're elite. You would not be watching this program. Are you really elite? Post the video.

@@ArkadyJ regardless of level you can always learn from other people. You act line 194 lb pounds is a lot of weight to clean and press or push press jerk.

Day 2 of asking Mark Wildman to devise a heavy club, or mace, armor building complex. (Similar to the Dan John Armor Building Complex)

Thats a good idea. You can basically do ABC with a dead clean, front press, balance squat. My guess is you're thinking something with a shield cast, press, squat combo?
@nirpy

1 Mill, 1 reverse Mill, 1 press, 1 reverse lunge left, 1 reverse lunge right. Switch hands and repeat. That's 1 round. This could be emom. Or add density/volume/weight for progressive overload.

@OfficialLeverKing
@OfficialLeverKing 3 ай бұрын
@@stevekubien6680 It’d be awesome to find some kind of full body complex that hits the lateral plane the way clubs are uniquely suited for. Then you could do 10-20 minutes of a kettlebell complex and 10-20 minutes of a club complex. I just haven’t been able to think of one that flows well, but I also haven’t been doing it for nearly as long

@@OfficialLeverKing Ok, that's fair and reasonable. Now, go back and read your comment and envision a standing with his arms crossed, tapping his foot while he says, what you wrote. In other words, there is no reason to be rude. Replying to your questions and requests is probably not the only thing on Mark's to-do list. Be kind. The world needs more of it.

I’m sure you’re probably already doing this so please don’t take this as a no-brainer, but just in case, make sure you’re subscribed to his channel and hit the bell icon and select the “all” option for notifications. I also “save” a lot of his videos to a personal playlist, so I wonder if that helps the algorithm prioritize his new videos for me in my feed.
