After 40 years of carpentry, my hands and knees were shot, but I started keto and IF four years ago TODAY and the arthritis I HAD in both areas is completely gone! Dr. Berg! I have been dealing with pain since 2021. I couldn’t open a bottle of water and had constant pain walking, sitting, standing and sleeping! I’ve had X-rays, MRI’s and physical therapy for my knees and nothing helped. I came across this video and was reminded that I had started taking the One a Day multivitamins for women in 2021. Since before then my blood work always showed slight iron deficiency/anemia. But since taking the multivitamin my last 3 blood tests showed that my levels were normal. (I only eat red meat a few times a year) However, when I was iron deficient I never had knee pain or pain in my hands. Long story long, I stopped taking the One a Day multivitamin a week and a half ago, started drinking more green tea and I AM SO MIND BLOWN!! Within a few days my symptoms improved drastically! Before, I wasn’t able to use any cardio machines and for the first time in over 6 months I could walk on a treadmill. I feel so blessed to have come across this information and I am forever grateful!!! Thank you for sharing. ❤🙏

Symptoms of iron overload: • Athritis • Fatigue • Abdominal pain • Bronze skin • Liver cirrhosis • Diabetes • Erectile dysfunction • Hypogonadism • Increased infection Excess iron is toxic to the liver, pancreas, and heart. The more the liver is damaged, the more problems you’ll have with iron. Top causes of iron overload: • Taking Tylenol • Consuming a high-carb diet • Consuming molasses • Taking multivitamins • Consuming too much red meat and not enough vegetables • Consuming red meat with sugar or starches . Fiber can help reduce iron overload. Consuming red meat with vegetables high in fiber may be beneficial. Remedies for iron overload: • Phytic acid (inositol hexaphosphate IP6) • Green tea • Cilantro • Quercetin • Donating blood Thank you Dr Berg!!

Hello, Dr Berg. I've lost 150 lbs over the course of one year using your advice when I was in high school. I'm now 30 years old and I'm doing all the same things because I know this works. I've been drinking the kale blueberry smoothie for breakfast, pickles for snacks when I can't make it to the next meal, and a large salad with a piece of chicken breast for dinner. I drink mineral water with my meal and purified bottled water when exercising. For exercise I'm walking my dog 1-2 hours a day after stretching and doing some indoor workouts like crunches and pushups. I'm at the stage where my clothes is starting to fit loosely but no serious weight loss yet, but I feel great!
@stephanierembert62212 жыл бұрын
If your clothes are fitting loosely but you have not lost any weight. More than likely you are losing inches. Inches can be more important than losing pounds. I had to learn that myself. Keep going Louie, don't stop. Good Luck !!!

150 pounds in one year?
@louie93732 жыл бұрын
@@Lbf5677 Yes, but I did it exactly how Dr. Berg explains. I was doing keto with intermittent fasting that eventually got down to OMAD plus intense daily exercise and it takes an extreme toll on your body. It's very important to consume a lot of greens and electrolytes. It starts very slow and snowballs exponentially once your body stops running on sugar and your liver health improves since the liver is connected to so many systems in the body.

keep doing what you’re doing. do not be concerned about your weight. do no weigh yourself. throw your scale in the trash. keep doing what you’re doing. your body will adjust as time passes, and you won’t notice until one day you’ll look in the mirror and you’ll be tone, and muscular…..then a great big smile will form on your face, and it will stay there for the rest of your life. every once in a while someone will like you know just how good you look. you will not notice the improvements because you’ll feel so good. the things that troubled you in the past will disappear and you’ll forget that those things even existed. oh yah, i used to get headaches, or i had sinus problems, things like that. the benefits are so worth it, that it’s worth dedicating yourself to this lifestyle. people that fail are the people that fail to stay the course. this is your life, not just a diet. this is how you live. it’s how you roll. this is you. keep on, and don’t look back. chronic illness is no way to live, so enjoy looking, and feeling great !

Dr. Berg - you forgot to mention getting your Ferritin checked. I have Hemochromatosis. I was diagnosed 4 years ago at age 57. My Ferritin at that time was 4580. Yes, that’s correct. I was experiencing night sweats and leg cramps every single night. I had a liver biopsy performed (you’re awake during this) and they found that Iron had caused Fibrosis in my liver. At around the same time they diagnosed me with a severe fatty liver. I was 321lbs at 5’11” and had a waist that was 60” around. I was eating vegetarian and consuming a lot of carbs. I immediately went Keto and I have lost 150lbs. I’m now 171lbs. I have gone through dozens of phlebotomy treatments where they take a pint of blood out of you - first it was weekly, the monthly, and now quarterly. I will require phlebotomy treatments for the rest of my life. My waist is now 34”. Back in April I had Open Heart Surgery to replace a congenitally defective aortic valve that I didn’t know I had until my Blood Pressure went down to 90/40 back in December of 2021. That’s a story for another day. But, I listen to Dr. Berg every morning and just love his products.

I also have it. But a low ferritin. I have H63d type homozygous ( both parents gave me a copy) That causes my iron to continuously circulate in my blood and get deposited into my joints and places. I also have fatty liver but not fibrosis thankfully 🙏 . I'm on a Mediterranean diet and I take chelation supplements. My worst joint pain has been my feet. I can't take aspirin or Nsads because I'm on a anticoagulant for factor 5 Leiden. ( Clotting disorder) And I can't take Tylenol because of my liver. My Dr doesn't recommend me having a phlebotomy because of my ferritin level. The supplements seem to be helping. My iron is still on the high side but within normal range .

I wish the same would happen with me. Unfortunately I have these nodules on my DIP joints (last finger joint) on both index fingers, and I’ve had them for several years so the only option at this point is to have them surgically removed. They’re bone growths that the body creates when there is inflammation and damage to the joint caused by arthritis.

I have begun to notice within the last month I get incredible arthritic pain in my thumbs and wrist, and often other large joints like knees, sometimes within 20 minutes of eating a healthy ribeye and drinking water. Per today’s video I donated blood just now and my Iron was at a 17 (14 would be too low and 20 would be too high they say), as after this video it made me think I was intaking too much iron, but that does not seem to be the case. I have experienced tremendous health benefits from eating strict carnivore, but I still I have joint pain, that seems to increase more frequently after eating. I thought I would throw that out there to see if anyone has experienced similar issues?

I stopped eating dark chocolate, because of the high iron content. I can't eat just one piece, and being a male it's more of a concern. I still eat chocolate, just not 65% and up.

I feel pain at times in the knuckles of my hands and knees. I don't know if it's arthritis. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my toes. I think it was about 8 years ago, that I had some blood tests done. At that time, my iron levels were just about the upper limit. I was Paleo at that time, I'm now Keto Paleo. I still eat mostly red meat for meat. So I don't know if the arthritis is related to iron or not. However, Ragweed season is starting soon in Ontario, Canada here. I'll be taking a lot of Querntcin during ragweed season to combat seasonal allergies. It will be interesting to see if this influences the pain in my hands, knees, and toes. It will be an interesting experiment. At this point, I say the pain in my hands and knees come and go so it may be something else.

interesting, I had read of some (not all) remote blue zone regions have a low-iron diet. This ferro-overload he describes is more relevant than it seems.

I am 53 and I've lost a lot of weight over the last few months after finding you Dr. Berg and recently my right hand (not my left) has been very stiff. My finger and knuckle joints hurt when I try to make a fist and my wife just says that's what happens to old people! I eat about 8 farm fresh eggs every day and I am worried that this may be the cause since they have almost 2mg of iron each. I also walk a lot and go to a gym on a regular basis so I am not your average fat and lazy 53 year old guy. Could the eggs be causing this? No carbs or sugar here...except for carrots!

Can you explain how my arthritis grew while I had iron shortage because of daily blood loss in the past years? Last year this blood loss ended and I am doing better overall physically now, including the arthritis and iron level.

Dr. Berg, thanks always. I am suffering from knee pain especially when I sleep at night. I was on Keto for two years and when I reached my ideal weight goal I started to eat some rice or whole wheat bread but not every day. I am also taking iron supplements recently but this knee pain had already started before I began taking iron supplements. When I exercise, walk or jog I have no pain at all but when I sleep I wake up to the pain. What could this be and what's causing this? I am 55. Thank you, Dr. Berg. You are a life saver.

I'm not a doctor. That said; inflammation. Inflammation is the route of all evils in the body. How it arrives is key. It appears via many means. prevent it or reduce it, in a healthy way. We are our weakest while asleep. Most any medical problem present (hanging-out and waiting), often will rear its ugly head as you sleep. Anti-inflammatory cortisol (hormone) would be lower at night while you rest. The hours are many through the night, and as we age be motionless is painful. Many of us over 50 go to bed feeling better than we do when we first rise in the morning. Personally I would stay away from rice, potatoes, wheat (breads) - at least 90% of the food consumption time. For some folks a little bit of carb. (esp. before bed) can tone down aggression and allow one to sleep well. Good luck. The diet is complex. One thing leads to another. What is good for one thing, can be negative for another. What is good for one person, may not be for another. What is good at a certain age may not be for a different age. etc. (JF)

Boron (mineral) deficiency. Take 3mg daily. Pain gone. Happened to me. Also, get your Ferritin tested. More than "15" in your results, start donating blood every 2 months until it gets to 15-17. Happens to women after menopause and men. Get your Ferritin tested. Stat. To lower iron absorption....take calcium (133mg) and milk with meals.

@@CryptoChangingTheWorld Hey some people don't even heart a comment or acknowledge at all. He might even see that the person answered their own question, such as improving through exercise or taking iron. Not making excuses, but I'm sure he's really busy but took a second to acknowledge a viewer. Peace Love and Light🙂

@@CryptoChangingTheWorld I think he does. At least mostly. As you can see he responded to a woman having female related issues. Maybe it was an easy fix in her case. It seems many of the comments are a request for a video on a specific topic. I would think it would be very time consuming to respond to all the comments. I also think that certain comments about certain issues should be dealt with by face to face - one on one with a medical/specialist doctor due to the complex issues. Most of us are not doctors, but all of us can learn from each other's experiences. It is common for You Tube Channel "Influencers" not to respond. Just too many comments. No medical doctor could/would give(s) advice on You Tube.

Orthopedic practitioner over 30 years in private practice treating the medial & lateral knee compartments and if you’re having inside knee pain, add a Lateral wedge of 5 to 7 degrees will open up the medial compartment reducing bone on bone causing the knee pain, same with the Lateral compartment just add wedge to the medial compartment. Typically most patients have medial compartment issues and the lateral wedge of 5 to 7 degrees will be adequate. Good luck 🩺

You know rebuilding the bone matrix with amino acids increases the bone's storage capacity alleviating many of the problems mentioned here (makes stronger bones too). And aren't kidney stones often calcium oxalate hence calcium passing in the urine? And I understood that high sugar in the diet can cause the production of oxalate robbing the body of minerals. And plants containing oxalate, like spinach, should be avoided if you have stones as the bone is being disassembled to maintain blood pH... you know keeping the pH such that the sodium potassium pumps are working to some degree.

Yes, lactoferrin can raise iron levels in the body: Clinical trials Studies have shown that lactoferrin can significantly increase hemoglobin, serum iron, and serum ferritin levels. Fewer side effects Lactoferrin may be a better alternative to iron supplements for people who experience adverse side effects from iron. Immune modulator Lactoferrin may affect iron homeostasis through an immune modulation mechanism. Anti-inflammatory Lactoferrin's anti-inflammatory properties may contribute to its effectiveness on iron status. Lactoferrin is a protein found in human milk, animal milk, and other bodily fluids. It helps regulate how well the body absorbs iron from the intestines. Lactoferrin is commonly used to treat low iron levels during pregnancy and to prevent blood infections in premature infants.

I am concerned, I want to heal. My hubby and I went Keto about 2 months ago.

Mine is more related to my gender, my ring fingers and pinkie fingers. Just had my wedding ring cut off after 44 years and it sits on top of upper knuckle and will have jewelry help to wear as part of necklace. I had lot of fatigue one day, MSM no longer helped, and it came on rather fast. In hand therapy, using ice and gloves at night, and really have not exert my fingers.

I get arthritic type pain in all of my finger joints and right knee. It happens whenever I smell scented laundry soaps, fabric softeners, dish soaps, deodorants, household cleaners, and fruit flavored sugar drinks. The same type of pain happens when I eat one type of cheese or smell mold. It’s debilitating pain. No one can seem to tell me what’s wrong. It’s ruining my life.
