Also non-vegans and religious people smh always assume that everyone around are. Same with anti-femisits. Somebody knows what does it mean that I "don't look like a feminist"? It is so so awkward :) And I live in Moscow while being rather liberal and progressive, if I say so myself, and I'm just so out of my element most of the time, and people get shocked then you politely disagree with them here. Because of mono ideology on TV a lot of people (the older - the more of them) think the same, and it is as common to bitch about sheer existence of the whole social groups as to bitch about traffic. To their luke-warm defence, they usually somewhat middle-ground it then they realise it is personal, or even say that they don't really mean it; they just really unempathetic to kinds of people they think they've never met, have a twisted idea of them or just use them as a punchline. I'm not having it, so my social status is fucked, but everyone low key respects me for having "an independent mind".
