I seriously feel like the the only THA fan that thought Midheaven was actually good :/ True that it wasn't as heavy as Nocturne, but it was so deep and progressive. I feel that the lyrics on Midheaven were insanely deep and profound, while the music itself was innovative and new and PROGRESSIVE. It wasn't Nocturne, it was Midheaven. Anyone who thinks it's bad simply thinks music is all fancy guitar licks and fast drum fills. No soul. Midheaven = Amazing album imo.

It’s called the herd mentality. Friend one only does what friend 2 does, and friend 3 makes that decision based on what friend 1 and 2 thought etc. people can’t step away, listen without bias, any longer.

So let’s talk about it?? Well. AJ Minettes bro classical finesse I think really kinda set the mood for what THA was about. Midheaven is a lot different from Nocturne. I love it also really. ***The Production Value on this album was better. You can tell.

You make your way, but don't belong. I swear you're not the only one. Is that what you've been dreaming? Is that what you've been dreaming? There's other ways of staying strong, Than keeping out the other ones. I feel the light years between what you say and what you mean. You won't get through with that phony confidence. I hear you speak, but nothing is said. You'll be stranded on the other side, Endless nights upon endless nights you'll be alone, Endless nights upon endless nights you'll be alone. You'll be alone to the grave. There's a place in all of us, the same in everyone, Making right the balances in all of us, Aching, burning, growing, learning and building the world around us. Until our lives are done, we'll share the same emotions, Shed tears of eulogy, then turn to plant our seeds. Still you can't hear me. Call out your name and try to get through. I never hear back, never hear back. And my words became a thousand arrows, Slicing through the endless barricades, So that everyone on earth could hear my call, And I watched for you. Now I know you're putting me on, you've chosen to Swear off the general population. ...And all those around you draw to quiet, your eyes dart across the room, But it's just an illusion, the room doesn't exist, there's only you and I, And it's almost like we can't fail at all, Or maybe we've failed already. what you choose to see is real: A cold dark world of enemies, obstacles you could never overcome, Or a bright future ahead. So tell the whole world and we'll start brand new, Strip the shackles off, let me look at you. If you can't reach out like you've been longing to, I'll have to rethink all that I thought I knew. Call out your name and try to get through. I never hear back, never hear back. Call out your name and try to get through. I never hear back, never hear back from you.

I was talking to Dean at a show on tuesday, and he said that they are getting the rest of the previous members to write material for the new album, I have really high hopes for it. IMO both albums are great and I like aspects of boh, but with AJ back for the recording part, I really hope they add some more classical elements. Either way, this band is amazing.

Between the Buried and Me is incredibly diverse, and increasingly skillful. On the other hand, without A.J.'s classical style I found Midheaven to be my least favorite. But I can appreciate it with a different perspective on what Dean had to do to accomplish this. But with A.J. back for Digital Veil they kicked more ass (not quite as much as Nocturne). Leaving a good note I have high hopes in Dean after hearing the Moonlight Sonata covers.

According to the band's myspace. Aj left because he didnt want to play metal, and the band wanted to continue playing heavy music that their fans enjoy. After reading that I was rather pumped, after listening to the album, I was rather confused. I like the cd, it works as a whole, none of the songs stand out like almost every track from nocturne. Nothing on this cd makes me want to go to a show, the last cd screamed out to be heard live.

Seriously, guys, get over AJ leaving the band and cut Tapley some slack. Imagine how he feels when people say that he can never measure up to Aj. Come on! I think you're overlooking the album abit. If you listen to the guitar work in Metanoia on Midheaven, the guitar work in that is immense and probably equals most of the guitar on Nocturne! As for the over all technicality of the music, Minheaven beats Nocturne in places. Im not trying to cause a fight, or put down Nocturne, cos i think thats a great album too! But i am just saying just because they took a new direction and A.J left doesn't mean the other musicians aren't any less talented!

I do agree with HA about how annoying it is how people are complaining about the new album. Of course, 90% is an exaggeration lol but those who complain do make the most noise so it's understandable.... I am glad I read some of these comments...I thought that I was the only one who was let down by the new album, (from reading their myspace comments). Yeah, I guess it cool that they came up with something new, but half of it is meaningless noodle-ing and that terrible singing. I listened to Nocturne so many times and still can listen to it all the way through. This stuff I could not even listen to it all the way through once on their myspace page for free! The Faceless is coming out really soon!

It's amazing how you guys are so fucking close minded... New singer, different music... What motive is that to hate it? Because its not like what they were? The point of music is to appreciate it all equally... Not close off certain parts because it isn't what your used to... Enjoy it, and appreciate it, and maybe you will see the band is just as good as it always was. simply different.

you could not possibly be more wrong. There is no recreation attempt in the least on this album. They have changed.period. It is very obvious that the band is missing something significant with the loss of AJ,but the band knows hes irreplaceable. I'm completely fucking disgusted at 90% of all Human Abstract fans right now. I will admit, AJ was my favorite member of the band, BUT HE'S GONE. LIVE WITH IT. Of course the band is going to change, they have new guitarist in the band. While the new album isn't close to as good as Nocturne, it's something new, rather the same old. This album isnt completely terrible, it has it's moment,s but I agree that it's nothing close to the caliber of Nocturne. In no offense to any members of the band, as they all have ridiculous skills, but AJ made The Human Abstract what it was. Even on the track listing it said "Written by AJ Minette AND The Human Abstract" And this video made no sense at all, I know theyre going for abstract ideas but atleast do something understandable. Seriously.
