Christoph Wanner is the first western TV reporter to manage to shoot behind the prison walls on the island of the damned. The fortress on the island of Ognenny was built as a monastery in the 16th century. Later the "Fire Island" was converted into a gulag for enemies of the state after the October Revolution of 1917. Since 1994 it is a maximum security prison for serious criminals. Documentary from 2022.

Regarding UK prisons, TVs and games consoles are a thing there BUT they’re considered privileges for good behaviour and with that, they can be removed or restricted if the prisoner is not conforming to prison rules/standards. They’re not given out during orientation. Also, a bored prisoner is much more likely to act out or actively become violent, especially if they’re in for a serious offence and/or serving a long sentence. TVs are an easy way for the prison to have prisoners entertained, and therefore less likely to cause issues to the skeleton prison staff that often have far too much on their plates. Source: several of my family members are prison officers.

And in Europe Scandinavia prisons are so relaxed, that the prisoners and the crime committers will repeat the same crimes over and over and over again, even in Denmark a rapist and a killer will get about 7 month to a year, and the Danish government don't understand why the Muslim community don't respect the law of Denmark, because they know they'll be back home in couple of months, and if they are good prisoners they will have a curfew to go out and socialize and come back to prison to spend the night, and Scandinavia prisons is the Disneyland for prisoners
