Brady going to the Bucs was the best move he could have ever made, both career wise and PR wise. He won a Super Bowl with a team that basically allowed him to run the entire team as like a player/coach/GM and was also allowed to kick back and show that he actually has a personality. Just that video of him throwing the Lombardi trophy to another boat improved his image from "the GOAT who is kinda boring" to "the GOAT that is fun and cool"

Having a losing record, even if it were just by a single game, is still garbage when compared to having more than THREE TIMES as many wins as losses. 4) Lastly, as if the points above aren't enough, Brady taking the same 7-9 non-playoff team and making them a 15-5 Super Bowl winning team....while winning 3 road playoff games against the bad Commanders, Brees and Rodgers, two other ALL TIME greats at the QB position only helps Brady and hurts Belichick, in terms of "legacy" 2020 Bucs: 15-5 Super Bowl Champs VS 2020 Pats: 7-9 and not making the playoffs.

No timeout, Fins run 40 seconds off the clock, Brady gets the ball with under a minute. Runs one play and the clock keeps running into half time. Ultimate disrespect for Brady and the offense and they lose to Miami, and KC gets the first-round bye. Great job coach. How many players have ever stayed happy under one coach for 20 years? How many superstars have been so forced to sit down and just be quiet? Indeed, how many regular people have been happy working for the same boss for 20 years? No one really knows what was going on in Tom's head except Tom. My best guess is that he does respect Bill, and what Bill taught him, and provided for him over the years. But also just outgrew Bill. The mentee needed a break from the mentor who refused to accept that the mentee was now his equal. A fairly common story in many walks of life. Destroying the KC Chiefs whose only touchdown in Tampa occurred when the team plane landed - not one during the game. Perhaps in the long run Belichick gets Brown into a Brady clone - he definitely looks the real deal - and it will work for both. Tom needed a team that could win now, Belichick needed to rebuild someday. Will his new QB leave $100 million on the table to let Belichick look like a genius? That is an entirely different question. It wouldn’t shock me b/c Jones seems to have the character that winning is all that matters. Will he still feel that way after one, two, 3 titles? Only time will tell. It's interesting that Belichick is the archetype of the cold, ruthless, coach. Bill Walsh is much more that. Bill Walsh once told Harris Burton something akin to "you're good enough to play in the NFL for seven more years, but you'll only spend the next four with us. Then we're going to trade you". To Walsh, all players were interchangeable cogs and as soon as one started showing signs of wear, he was to be replaced with a new one. There was no loyalty.

Well, looking back now it is clear the Bellichek is mediocre. He made some good trades and decisions, but without the QB spot settled he cannot build an offence. Looking back on the totality of his trades and draft picks, it is easy to see how much Brady carried those offences and trained the receivers. Bellichek got not only a top tier QB, but a top tier OC in Brady. Mac Jones is a good QB, but without a good OC and with time since Brady left, we just see that the offence cannot move the ball. The defence isn’t even good anymore. I think Bellichek needs to be fired if the Pats finish below a .300 (which is honestly what I am expecting).

Really solid film! 11:40 - The Pats won the AFC East, not the AFC West. Bill is a really good coach, but people act like he hasn't made massive personnel mistakes or ruined games. Remember Chad Jackson, Audalius Thomas, Antonio Brown, Ty Law, Richard Seymore, and since 2017 have any of those drafts amounted to much of anything? He has a terrible record with WRs among other positions. Additionally, Belichick has a tainted record. He was caught cheating back in Cleveland and has been caught several times in New England. Imagine for a moment if Tom Brady REALLY WAS THE REASON for the Patriots' success. Bill was middling before Tom, poor last year, and nothing special this year. Judge Bill on the years without Tom, maybe Bill isn't really as good as people say?

I can counter this argument last year bill had the most op out in the nfl and by far the worst qb and went 7-9 2008 he went 11-5 without Tom Brady Tom Brady went to a stacked team already made for a playoff run Winston trew for 30 tds the year before with that same cast and then Brady recruited brown gronk and fornett and others to that already stacked team also for the cheating thing remember deflategate had noting to do with Bill and every thing to do with Brady

@@autastic4577, Bill recruited a former MVP as QB. He controls personnel, so if he isn't happy with the groceries, that's his problem. @@autastic4577, 2016-21 haven't been good. He has had to deal most of the good players from those drafts like Thuney, Brissett, Michel. Bill has picked 10 WRs since 2010. They have caught a total of 172 passes, an average of 17.2 catches each so far in their careers. That is trash. As far as pass rushers, he's sucked here too. Aggregating ALL Bill's picks since 2015, the last 6 drafts, Bill has only picked one guy with any meaningful sack numbers, Trey Flowers, who has been on Detroit since 2019. He has 30.5 sacks so far. Aside from Trey, Bill drafted 56.5 sacks since 2015, 6+current seasons, 56.5 sacks between 18 front 7 draftees. For context, TJ Watt by himself has 52.5 since 2017. Pittsburgh has 136. Steeler WRs drafted 2015 to present caught 1378 Passes, 6 drafted WRs, averaging 229.6 catches per pick. The Steelers know how to pick pass rushers and WRs while Bill sucks at both. It isn't just the Steelers though. 8 Chiefs WRs caught 788 passes, 98.5 receptions per pick. The Chiefs have drafted 72 sacks over 15 players since 2015, and their pass rush is sorry. And don't pretend like nobody else suffered like the Patriots last year. The Chiefs had nothing but backup OL nearly all year, Tardif, Niang, Osemele, Schwartz, and Fisher at the end. D linemen on IR, DBs, their only veteran RB was out the whole season, Sammy Watkins only played a half season. Bill's a good coach, but you're fooling yourself. HE picked the prima donna at QB, he's the GM. HE drove Tom away.

Following Brady since his days at Michigan and also being a Giants Fan followed Belichick also then he ended up with the Patriots. These are grown men they could leave anytime but over the years as guys retired from the Patriots you would here them say Belichick was not easy to play for but winning does cover a lot of problems but eventually I think Brady would want to see if he could do it with another team and also I did hear former players say like Damien Woody on NFL live it never evolved no joint decisions or input about plays or players. I remember how Brady always would accept lower play like you mentioned. I think a lot of people are going to gain a lot of respect for Brady for keeping this quiet for long reminds me of the situation with the Broncos when Dan Reeves left and Shanahan took over you heard it come out that Elway was never happy about the situation. Me personally I lost some respect for Belichick when you hear players mention how Brady was treated. Now Brady is without question the GOAT and he now knows and everyone else he did it without Belichick now Belichick will realize how good he had it and parted ways to soon.

Gaining respect for Brady for keeping this quiet?? Keeping what quiet? Tom Brady is as big an icon in American sports as was Muhammad Ali. Bill Belichick is arguably the best coach of all time. They both did their respective things and got to 9 Superbowls. What is there to keep quiet?

But as is often the case with exceptionally smart people, they are difficult to get along with (read: asshole). Brady was the perfect piece of clay coming out of Michigan for Belichick. But Brady is also an extraordinary person and took Belichicks teaching and raised it to another level. They both deserve all the praise that is heaped upon them. And what happened after is irrelevant. Tampa winning doesn't detract from Belichick and while adding to Brady's legacy it doesn't change anything, He was already the GOAT. What is he now? GOAT 2. GOAT +. It doesn't change anything.

As a lifetime New England Patriot fan, I can easily say, we are all very angry at Bill for breaking up the Patriots/Brady dynasty. We did not care, at the end, if the Pats won another ring. All we wanted to do was watch Brady play for as long as he wanted and enjoy saying goodby, with the added bonus of knowing you always had a legitimate shot at a superbowl with Tom as your guy. Bill screwed it all up, determined to treat Brady like everyone else on the team, when, and apparently he is the only one not recognizing this, Brady was the GOAT, and had clearly earned the right to be treated so. Now Bills legacy is shattered and it is Brady who is now recognized as the reason the Pats had such a great run. Which makes Bill the top Patsy of all time, the GOAT!

The biggest responsibility of a professional football coach should be about maximizing each player’s potential. Disrespecting arguably the greatest quarterback in history of the sport isn’t it, especially when the guy is as great a team player who cuts his salary for the team. The saddest part is that the most logical explanation for his action is authority complex, a fancy way of say a coach being jealous of his player because he is more important for team success.

2:11 “The New England Patriots were attempting to become the 1st team to make 4 straight Super Bowls” Wrong. The Buffalo Bills did that 30 YEARS AGO and it’s common knowledge even for casual football fans. I’m from Vegas. I’m not a Bills fan. I wasn’t even alive for that team’s run. bellichick wanted brady out of his system it didnt meet up with his plan so he deliberately declawed tom gave him less than adequate weapons a makeshift offensive line i dont blame tom one bit for leaving and its pretty glaringly obvious that brady was the main reason for the dynasty as bellichick doesnt even have a 500% record without him but with him won 9 conference championships and 6 super bowls with a winning pctg of 760%

I started reading the book The Dynasty by Jeff Benedict and you can see that Kraft regrets the Autonomy he gave Belichick being the Coach and General manager and now Belichick's son is the defensive coordinator that does not look good considering what we are learning now. Thanks again Mikerophone great video.
@rodc43343 жыл бұрын
I could imagine that is true. On the other hand, over the last 20 years what other team has that many division titles, super bowls? In the end, even if Kraft has second thoughts, that decision has made him a ton of money and brought many rewards.
@jamesanthony56812 жыл бұрын
What does Kraft say exactly about regretting the autonomy he gave Belichick? Kraft stepping aside and allowing Bill to have a free hand (with a few exceptions) has brought 6 Super Bowls. The Pats never got old or ever seemed to be in a rebuilding phase.

Honestly, I'm glad Brady left the Patriots. With the benefit of hindsight now that Brady has returned to Foxboro as a member of the Buccaneers, I can proudly say this: most of us football fans don't hate Brady; we hate the vocal minority of Patriots fans with a constant need to flex their superiority everywhere. Just look at how they behaved when Brady made his entrance, or when Brady took a sack from his former team. "Savage" is the word I will use to describe the whole thing. This was the player that brought them 6 championships, and they could not even show him a shred of respect. As a reminder: THIS was what fans of 31 other NFL teams have to put up with when Brady was a Patriot. The sheer disrespect and insufferable attitudes of this vocal minority is why a lot of us reasonable football fans can never appreciate Brady in his prime.
