Favre yes ! But rodgers its been (since 3rd year) elite unlimited o-line holding & gifted calls / no calls of pi . Its a contact sport and Rodgers cant handle contact(but they kept favre money rolling in ) . Brett would still be playing and have 10 rings if he received such nfl gifts as unlimited o-line holding, he battled warren sapp every snap and still won games . Farve would get more contact in one game than rodgers in his nfl career . One is a football player one is a pansy . Most gb locals know it , ask around . Brett wanted steve marriucci back on the staff and mike mcarthy was butthurt , so mike tried for two years to get rid of brett (the retirement idea) but did not want to plat against him (superior qb) (jets idea) " i just want to play football"

Mahomes brought these baseball mechanics to football, and it literally changed the game imo. Mahomes needed one season game in his rookie year to show how lethal he was, Rodgers still took time to adjust. I’m not saying Mahomes is the greatest but holy shit, I’ve never seen a qb so young with such poise, confidence, and resilience. Also his first year starting I think he would have won the SB if it weren’t for those terrible calls to extend Brady’s last drive - Calls Brady/belichick were used to getting. What people tend to forget is that in Favre's last game as a Packer, they lost to the Giants in the NFC championship game in which the D could not stop the passing game. Favre had an excellent year and was still playing at a very, very high level. BUT - the organization had undergone massive changes starting 2 years earlier with Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy taking the GM and HC positions and trying to more or less run Favre out of town by shedding OLine and not bringing in any real help until that year because they expected 2007 to be a tank year to usher our Brett. Even with the Jets, Brett was doing great until the bicep injury - and they had been bottom feeders prior to his arrival. It is very similar to the situation with Rodgers now and when they drafted Love. The Packers were a few playmakers away on D or O to being a SuperBowl team. Instead, they drafted Love - a player for the future. This is what Green Bay management has consistently done because they have not been a 'win now' team since the Packer's first SB win under Favre.
@jinmochizuki Жыл бұрын
Best thing ever said, long time Packers fan!
@11aaf Жыл бұрын
Favre threw the Giants' game away. He did the same with the Eagles, a few years before that. In the 2nd Super Bowl against the Broncos, the Packers were 14 pt favorites, and lost. Packers fans were very tired of losing big games because of Favre's INTs. Now, the Packers fans are tired of Rodgers failure to perform well in big games. Between Favre and Rodgers, only 2 Super Bowl wins in 30 yrs. Rodgers had the worst season of his career in 2022, and if the Packers can get 2x 1st RD draft picks for him, that would be great, especially since he'll probably play only 1 or 2 more seasons.
@kershekfamily Жыл бұрын
@@11aaf Favre threw the Eagles game away? Do I need to remind you of 4th and 26? Was Favre supposed to play corner to stop that? In the 2nd SuperBowl vs. the Broncos, the Packers had internal turmoil over Holmgren leaving and NFL deeply wanting a storyline of Elway going out on top - no different than the NFL overlooking BountyGate when Favre joined the Vikes so the Saints could get a SB after Katrina. For Rodgers and Favre, they were held back by an incompetent GM and team unwilling to 'win now' since Ron Wolf left. Both were also saddled with McCarthy - who is showing his coaching incompetence in Dallas now. The bandwagon Packer fans grew tired of Favre and Rodgers because they don't remember the 20+ years of horrible football that preceded them. Lastly, vs. the Giants, the Packers managed 29 yards rushing and could not stop Plaxico who has 151 receiving to go with the 134 yards they had on the ground. Packers lost because they could not run the ball because Ted Thompson was trying to revamp the line with draft reaches.

Looking back, that loss in the playoff game AT Lambeau to the hated Vikings, an 8-8 team, where Favre threw 4 interceptions (and a fumble, by the way), allowing Randy Moss to moon the crowd, probably had an impact on the decision to draft Rodgers.
@John6-402 жыл бұрын
Crazy how Rodgers doesn't have many playoff games with multiple picks, but the results are still the same. Probably worse considering he only has one Super Bowl.
@jenx5870 Жыл бұрын
@@John6-40Then it's the team, not the QB. If a QB's stats are better, but the game results are worse, it isn't the one throwing the ball who is at fault. Favre had White, Jennings, Bennett, Freeman, Chmura, Butler, Koonce, Holliday, Sharper, and Newsome. Many of them stayed on the team together for years. What do the Packers have now? Adams left. Favre also only has one Super Bowl to his name. When the team is good, then they will have a good season, otherwise, they will not. One player cannot hold a team up. A QB needs good receivers to catch and run the ball, and good protection so he can pass. The team needs a good defense to prevent the other team from scoring and dominating the game. Rodgers has already surpassed Favre. He is a good quarterback, and I'm not even a Packers fan. I'm a Giants fan from DFW, and he is way better than my inconsistent Manning was near the end of his career. Rodgers doesn't have the good receivers to throw to like he wants to, and he is becoming frustrated. Therefore, he is making mistakes, and throwing interceptions. They need a wide receiver to replace Adams. And a better defense. And better passing route calls so that Aaron can get an open receiver to make the passes he is used to making. Everyone is quick to blame him, but it's the coaches who are making all of the bad choices.

I don’t know, in 2015 when Favre was put in the GB hall of fame 67,000 people were there giving him a standing ovation. The gunslinger is humble, Rodgers isn’t hated, but considered more of an arrogant prick. Favre’s legacy isn’t what it could’ve been and Rodgers’ career isn’t over yet, they’ve got a young QB waiting for his turn and once Rodgers arm and playmaking abilities aren’t what they once were expect him to take a seat, that’s when the drama will unfold. 49er fans watched the same thing happen when Steve Young was brought in while cool Joe Montana was our stating QB. Watching to future Hall of Famers compete was quite a show full of drama that does not happen very often. Respect for all.

Favre in even close to Rodgers skill. Brett had a good arm but Rodgers is better in every way. Health maybe but Brett did throw over 300 ints
