Coach of the year: Mike Brown. What he’s done with the Kings this year leading them to the playoffs breaking that drought is impressive. Most improved player: Shai without a doubt. He’s been playing great this year averaging 31 PPG. Rookie of the year: Banchero. He’s been carrying the Magic all year. DPOY: Big Brook Lopez. 6th Man of the year: Brogden for sure. He’s been playing great for the Celtics and has fit seamlessly into their system. MVP: That’s tough because Giannis, Embiid, and Jokic have each had great individual seasons. Joel is averaging 33 PPG but Jokic is averaging another triple double. It’s tough but I have to give the edge to Embiid.

It’s telling to me that Curry just joined the list of MANY current and former players that say Embiid should win the award. I think the media takes it personally and pushes back with its vote. So once again, you have Shaq, Barkley, Smith, Jimmy Butler who said “this should be Embiid’s second”, Siacim, Harden DeRozan, Draymond Green just to name some naming their MVP. I really think there is something to this. The media took it VERY personal last year when Embiid said “they don’t like me what do I need to do to win”
