They should also revert the ending in the novel, LN ending ruined the build up of tragedy that supposedly happen. WN had 50% of all living things dying like they got Thanos'ed where even the people Kumoko cared about also died to save the world. LN ending literally saved all surviving people after the war which fcked up the plot where all those prepared to die supposedly death became a joke...like seriously Wrath's death is a tragedy but still epic since he knew whats about to happen to him yet still follow thru like a true man unlike his wuzzy fake hero friend and that gender bend idiot friend of his..

I think that is because the other characters are still babies. Of course, the vampire girl appears, but it is more because Kumo has crossed paths with her. I imagine that we will see more of the others classmates and more details from the teacher we they're older.

They basically put out a goddamn slideshow for some episodes...it was just sad. Also, the Manga attempts to fix the Timeline Skipping that the LN has. They are apparently(?) going to structure it like the anime, where you see Kumoko grow first, then focus entirely on the human classmates by going back in time.

I very much enjoyed this anime. It took a couple of viewings to figure things out because of the non-linear timeline that jumps back and forth. Once I realized that the scenes with the other students is about 15 years after the MC is hatched in the dungeon, it started to make sense. All that level building is well before the other characters appear.

@@Velkuro Only real chance it has for a season 2 or remake is through sales of the LN, Manga, and anime adaptation out so far. Unlikely to get a remake any time soon though just because people will see it as just another Isekai story with an over convoluted plot. I'm not saying I wouldn't want one, absolutely love the story and have volumes 6 through 16 multiple times each, I just think sales as a whole weren't high enough and unfortunately the base presentation of the anime hurts the series more than anything (besides providing exposure for the series as a whole). Oh well, only time will tell if we get to see the mischief of Shiori (aka Kumoko or White) in becoming a *redacted* or the absolute chaos she will bring as a *redacted* for the demon army. Spoilers for the redacted WAY below: Redacted 1: God Redacted 2: Major informant and master manipulator Also, I want to see her in the powerless state for a bit, things get hectic there and it provides more time to really get a understanding of the world's system as a whole.

The WN is like the anime, parts with the present, then jumps to the future, then again to the past to fill the story gaps, but basically the WL stops around where the anime ends, then goes again to the past and focus on the demons part of the story, the journey of the demon lord and the protagonist while rising Sophia, the evolution to Shiro after a battle with Pottimas, and also the story of wrath and how he joined the demon lord, this part as far as I remember is almost all from the protagonist perspective, with few appearances of the strongest mage trying to learn advanced magic from the protagonist childs, the story goes up to when they arrive to the demon castle, how Sophia enters school and gains control of the school (sleeping with all the male students), also how Shiro creates the 10th army (which specialize in undercover operations), the WN stops shortly after the battle of the Demon lord vs Pottimas, as far as I know the author stopped writing to prioritize the LN serialization

Most of the series was amazing, felt very deliberate, with tons of sneaky foreshadowing of future events that gives you tons of those "oh....OH." moments, but the end felt like the author was just bored of it all and just full sprinted to a half ass ending.

That's because that's not what happens. Kumiko doesn't die to the demon lord. so at one point kumiko lays eggs, she can transfer to those eggs to birth another body. While she's in the egg she also uses the chance given to her by guli to evolve thats where the new form comes from. That's also why the demon lord tries to ally with her instead, because she doesn't know how kumiko is alive or if she can even be killed.

Almost everything is wrong! Their new body was adapted to their soul nature. That's why they have different races that have little in common with their parents. This is very important plot information. Kumiko has the ability of immortality and can transfer her soul into other eggs, making her doubly immortal.

Man this is a seriously underrated Isekai. One of the best Light Novels I have read what I really love about the early parts of the Light Novel is that it makes you think the different stories it jumps through, Shun, Wakaba, and Julius as well as other characters, are happening at the same time but it actuality they are iirc about 10 years in the future. Wakaba was born a monster and other reincarnations were babies so they couldn't do anything but Wakaba was thrown into the deep end. The way the author tells these stories is incredible. Just one chapter I recall was The heroes party going into the Great Elroe Labyrinth to subdue the Nightmare of the Labyrinth which from the readers point of view is Wakaba, there is evidence to support this too, like how it's a spider monster, and how it is very intelligent, as well as it's white like a ghost. You get introduced to the heroes party as well as their accomplishment and while I was reading this I was thinking "Man things aren't looking good for Wakaba at all" and then it turns out the spider monster they were talking about was just a child of the real Nightmare of the Labyrinth called the Nightmares Vestige. I can go on and on about this but I'll have the rambling for some other time. TL:DR: The story telling of this Isekai is amazingly well thought out and if you want to read an isekai this is one of the greatest ones out there.

The reason why Wakaba, the spider POV character, allies with the demon lord is because they're biologically related (in the story, Arial, the demon queen, was the mother of the queen spider that was Wakaba's reincarnation mother). This and the fact that Wakaba was a combination of too smart and too powerful to be easily killed by Arial and they decided to become allies because they had the elf chieftain as a common and potent enemy. After that, I think Wakaba would have gone around recruiting the other more demonic reincarnated beings from her former class at school. Meanwhile, the fascist elf chieftain wanted the supposed heroes hamstrung so they'd not be strong enough to be a threat to his plans of global conquest. I've only watched the anime, so I don't know how the story proceeds from Wakaba reuniting with her former teacher, but I'd imagine that it's going to turn out that she's now the leader of the reincarnations as the wisest and most powerful of their number. After all, Sofia, the vampire, was quite a bit more powerful than the rest of the class and still called Wakaba "Master," telling me she looked up to the spider like a martial arts practitioner would her teacher.

The anime had so much potential but they weren't able to fully flesh out everything within the series. MY BIGGEST GRIPE WITH THE ANIME WAS HOW THEY BOTCHED THE SHUN SEGMENTS AS HE WAS ACTULLY LIKEABLE AND HIS DYNAMIC WITH KATIA IS SO CUTE!!

I watched it and its bad. Last episodes are terrible. No need to watch. U just see a spider getting extremely strong and when u think the action can begin now, not much happens.

and the scenes where we dont see the spider are pointless. Its so boring to see the real heroes just hanging around. Plus last episodes not only look bad, they have no reason to exist. You randomly get tanks and rockets for no reason.

The difference between the light novel and anime are wild to me The anime steps up the pacing by a mile and a half which yoi can definitely notice. The light novels had so many interactions that were interesting or just fun to read especially goong into the later books. Also the writing and character buildingbis great. The book 8 (i think it was) was entitely about the backstoru of anitehr reincarnated kid who ended up joining with the protagonist which was probably one of my favorite books. while the anime has you skipping any non spider parts, the books have you interested in them and always entertained (exluding a certain book 11)

im anime only (and used internet for all unanswered mysteries) and personally loved it. Maybe its just cause the original story is so good... But I truly wish theyd make season 2. However I understand if the adaptation just did a bad job when compared to the source material. Either way I suppose I will have to read it someday

Having read the web novel, my favorite isekai. I also want to point out that the author did a good job of mixing science fiction, fantasy and post-apocalypse in one series making it strangely believable. I also really like the character design, especially from Kumoko. Also I would like to point out that it is one of the rare isekai that justifies being an isekai. In many other works, the fact that the hero comes from another world would change almost nothing to the plot except his knowledge. But in this one the isekai is the very basis of the work. (however I'm not a big fan of kumoko's true identity because it simplifies his selfish and frivolous character but hey that's how it is) Apart from the humor and the dubbing, the anime definitely doesn't do it justice... In any case I'm happy to have found a video where this series steps out of its obscure niche a little, nice work.
