Adults have the free will, in spite of what may of happened to them as a child, to be better people. Micheal made the decision to be a monster. To inflict on other children great pain to make up for the pain that was inflicted on him in childhood. It’s not excuse. I mean Micheal may of had it bad with his father and the pressure but he certainly didn’t have it as bad as say, I don’t know, Elie Wiesel, who spent similar formative years in Auschwitz. Watching his family being murdered in front of his eyes. And he became one of the greatest humanitarians of the 20th century. You cannot use your childhood as an excuse. And it isn’t. Otherwise people would be directly as bad in adulthood as they were treated badly in childhood. And we all know that isn’t the case...
@FreeSpiritPaulette2 жыл бұрын
@Ben Haney I'm more than 1000000% sure he never did that which you are referring to in your comment. Let me elaborate: The fault was made in first place, when his management covered the first family and gave them so much money just to keep silent. If they didn't do that in first place, then no one else would have come to that idea to claim the abuse of those kids. No one ever asked though why those families asked for so much money instead of putting MJ to jail! That should have be the first sign that they aren't telling the truth! Michael fought for the human rights, for so many children around the world...he knew how it is to grow up fast and be badly threaten by a parent... he could never ever do this to his or anyone's kids. When there was any kind of interview where he was asked about kids, he was answering the questions with so much love...somehow I even felt that he was partly a child himself. If he would have been that bad as some made him in the news, his kids wouldn't miss him so much! Need I say anymore?

I think the most heartbreaking thing about watching Michael perform in his youth is that you can tell how happy he was. I’m not sure if he was ever able to be happy again, except when he was performing. That’s why as an adult he was so strange and made dumb decisions, because he was chasing the happiness that he could never get back.

Honestly, the _insane_ and utterly sadistic level of abuse he (and his siblings but especially Michael) suffered would absolutely mess anyone up, permanently. All the actual scientific literature in terms of neurology in the last few decades has shown this conclusively, so his eccentricity is something I could never judge (and who cares, anyway?). As far as his accusations re: children, I could truly go either way - he totally could've done it, but I also can legitimately see him to have been kind of stuck in childhood, trying to recreate, almost pathologically, the childhood he truly never had. His was just _that_ awful, perhaps he spent the rest of his life making up for it. Either way, the fact the man couldn't go to sleep without being given an anesthetic that normally is given only _to put people out for surgery_ just to get a few hours of sleep at most shows how tortured he truly was.
